I'm sure if I was born in England I'd be super pumped about watching 90 minute snooze fests. Same as if you were brought up in my home pretending to be Troy Aikman in the front yard since you were old enough to throw a ball. Its all relative man.

But when I break down my barriers of bias, and the doors of perception are cleansed - football is still light years ahead of soccer in almost every facet of sport.

scotland. not england. never england. you can kind of get away with saying britain, i won't like it but i will accept it - just about. but please never call me english.

agree that if i was born in america i probably wouldn't like the sport so much. its what i've grown up with though, i love it and the sport is a massive part of my life whereas this time last year i didn't even like american football.

If Tom Brady is such a great quarterback why did Drew Henson start ahead of him at Michigan and Leonard DiCaprio in front of him with Giesel?

Mistakes are made everyday, as far as Drew Henson?? He would have been best staying in and playing Baseball.

I see lots of "opinions" here in this thread, and I'm just the voice of reason, so take it for what it's worth.

"NOTHING DESTROYS AN OPINION LIKE THE FACTS"

I know the thread is here to bridge the gap between OTA'S and training camp, but it is kind of ludicrous in a way.

Entertaining but very strange.

Some of my favorites:

If Brady was the QB here since he got drafted we still wouldn't have any rings.

It was time for Landry to go.

Barry Sanders is severely overrated.

Jimmy Johnson brought the absolute best out in Troy Aikman by never 'handing' him the starting position.

Darren Woodson should be in the hall of fame.

Wait... what? I thought it was all Tony Romo's fault that we haven't won a playoff game since 1996.

The reality is, Brady would do worse than Romo here. He isn't quite as mobile and wouldn't be able to deal with constant pass protection breakdowns. Brady has good footwork in the pocket, and a huge arm that compensates for his lack of footspeed (slowest 40 ever for a QB I believe). But if he was a Dallas Cowboy we would be in worse shape than we are now. It would be similar to the Bledsoe era, I really mean that.

Romo has a 6th sense about making the first rusher miss, because down the stretch last year - they didn't give him a consistent pocket at all. Thats why Romo always looks like he's 'feeling' pressure that sometimes isn't there - because he doesn't trust his line. Same story with his WRs, don't know if he trusted them since TG left.

Romo gets blasted, but his 60+ completion percentage and 97.1 passer rating is incredible considering how often our line breaks down, the injuries he's played through, and the rediculous amount of drops we've had since he became our starter.

I totally agree, I was just parodying the anti-Romo crowd.

Steve Young should not have been a first ballot HOFer if he should be there at all. If it weren't for a missed PI on Deion he may not have won 1 SB. Don't get me wrong he should be in the Hall of Very Good but in my opinion not in the Hall of Fame. First ballot should be reserved for the greatest of the greats ie Emmitt, Payton, Montana, Lawrence Taylor, Marino, and Staubach. Steve Young is nowhere near any of those guys.

first ballot, last ballot, doesn't matter at all, and the mediots responsible for the voting thinking that way is half of what is wrong with the hall voting to begin with.

Great thread.
  • Anything any member of the media says about Donovan McChoke and praise for the Philadelphia Eagles organization (I think they treat their players other than mcnabb like ****.)
  • Any talk of "Romo shouldn't be golfing" and that he should be focusing on football 24/7. Get real people.

Mike, I'm digging the avatar and sig

1. The number of Super Bowl rings a QB has, has no bearing on where they rank compared to other QB's. In other words Dan Marino cannot lose every arguement for the rest of his life because he never got a ring.

2. Marion Barber will succeed as the #1 RB for the Cowboys...

3. Donavan McNabb is not a championship caliber QB. He throws way too many balls to his recievers feet...

4. Phillip Rivers and Tony Romo are one in the same. They both put up great numbers and are very good, but they both turn the ball over at the worst times, and at least once a game.

5. Sean Taylor would have gone down in history as another Roy Williams if given 5 more seasons to play.

6. Peyton Manning is hands down the GOAT at QB.
