As the release date for the upcoming reissues of the first three Led Zeppelin albums draws ever closer, fans have been given another taste of some of the rarities they can expect to take home. Earlier this week, the group released a video for an alternative mix of ‘Whole Lotta Love.’ Today, a previously unreleased instrumental track called ‘La La’ has hit the internet.
‘La La,’ scheduled for inclusion on the expanded versions of ‘Led Zeppelin II,’ appears in an unfinished rough mix. The song itself is largely upbeat and dominated by organ, before having its tempo cut in half at the mid-point of the song as Jimmy Page explores different sounds with his guitar.
At a listening event in New York City earlier this month, Page told Ultimate Classic Rock that he wanted to leave “no stone unturned” with respect to the reissue campaign. More recently, the guitar legend used a single word to dismiss accusations that Led Zeppelin stole part of the music for their song ‘Stairway to Heaven’ from the band Spirit: ‘ridiculous.’
