Was getting compared by announcers to the one not called against Dez. Of course, we don't know the difference between the two. Dez got off the field when told; not sure if Harbaugh did or if he said more than he should have.

The biggest thing with me is if calling unsportsmanlike conduct there is up to the discretion of the officials then they need to have very thick skin and not call it unless the coach/player is just belligerent and interferes with their ability to do their job.

It's a call left to the discretion of the ref. Our ref didn't call it. The refs in this game did. Where's the controversy?

Dez came on the field, dead ball, didn't contront anyone, got off the field.
The penalty was still being sorted out, so refs needed to do that. Not worry about Dez.

Harbaugh came on the field, the ball was spotted I beleve. Then he kept walking further and further into field of play. We don't know what was even said.

Refs seen that as a penalty.

This. If the refs weren't so confused over the flag and Dez didn't retreat quickly, 15 yarder.

I think that was after the play where the Patriots receiver reported to the ref that he was 'ineligible' which left a TE lined up as basically a OT spot eliglible and he was left uncovered and caught a seam pass. I can see why Harbaugh would be hot. There really was no way his players could know when the ref allows that right before the snap. I've never seen a receiver report as ineligible before that I know of. I would think that should be an illegal formation and will likely be stopped by the competition committee during the offseason.

Makes sense.
Also, if they look at players / coaches coming onto the field for any reason, and redo the rules.
It will be called the Dez rule, not the Harbaugh rule...

The situations are still pretty different. Dez did it during a play stoppage because the flag was thrown. Harbaugh did it after a completed pass with the ball spotted and the play clock started.

Yes. Vereen, the Running back, reported ineligible as they were lining up for the snap. It was a pretty cheeseball call in my mind. IIRC the snapped the ball within 5 seconds of that gesture. Normally that's announced when the player reports onto the field.
