CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police say Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has suffered serious injuries after falling out of the back of a pickup truck during a domestic dispute with his fiance.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said in a statement that Henry was found in the road Wednesday in Charlotte "apparently suffering life-threatening injuries." Henry was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where his condition was not immediately known.

Police say Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his unidentified fiance was driving away from a home. The domestic dispute continued and Henry eventually fell out of the truck.

Henry broke his left forearm during a win over Baltimore on Nov. 8, had surgery and was placed on season-ending injured reserve.

From what I am hearing it was far from a traffic accident. He was in a domestic dispute with his fiance. She took off in a pickup truck and he jumped in the back. The dispute continued and he flew out of the back of the truck and received massive head injuries.

I got a buddy that works for Channel 4 News in Greensboro and he says it was ugly. Was even amazed he survived long enough to make it to the hospital.

Updating a previous item, the Charlotte Observer reports that Bengals WR Chris Henry suffered "life-threatening" injuries when he fell out of the back of a pickup truck in Charlotte (NC) Wednesday.

Henry reportedly "came out" of the truck during a domestic dispute with his fiancee, a Charlotte native. He is currently being treated at the Carolinas Medical Center, where he was transported by paramedics. As Henry's fiancee was driving away in the pickup, Henry allegedly jumped into the bed and ultimately fell or was forced out. The wide receiver was in Charlotte to finalize wedding plans. The nature of his injuries is unknown, but police say Henry is still alive.
