and you know this, how exactly?

Or are you talking out your rear end, per usual?

Because Tom Ciskowski has been here since 1992, which means he worked under a loser like Larry Lacewell and was a part of some of the worst drafts in the history of this franchise.

But, I mean, aside from that.. he's great.

How long has he held his current position?

Even Jones is smart enough to know if the pendulum suddenly swings the other direction it's on him. I hope he has learned and I think he did.

I don't know how far this team will go in the playoffs but I'm willing to bet that WP will have them prepared. I don't know about the rest of you Zoners but I've enjoyed the ride considering I didn't expect them to finish better than 11-5 and not win the division.

Regardless of the outcome in the playoffs, I'm pretty pumped about the next few years!

This is true. And getting annoying. No one was criticizing Parcells in the thread. It's just ridiculous to have to put up with the non-sense that every smart decision made over the past 4 years was all Parcells' doing.

I'm confident Superpunk can be far more than annoying. :D

Ireland worked under Lacewell too. But don't let stop the hate.

The Rooney Rule is an embarrassment, it makes qualified individuals look like they've been pandered to or hired to comply with quotas, whatever happened to merit and merit alone?

You want to make a dent in race relations then quit singling out people by the color of their skin pigmentation and just call them men.

Great, another "yes man" that will do whatever Jerry says.

He's bleeding out all the good Bill Parcells brought to this team.

Anyone else suspect an influx of DCC posters at the first sign of any negative news?

I don't know how long he's held the position of assistant of college scouting, but I know he's been here since 1992.

This place it's either all Parcell's fault or all his greatness. There is no in-between.

Especially that character you quoted. He never has anything positive to say about the organization.

I never even heard of the guy until today.:

Dave,

He's been around for some time but he was not an immediate FOB because he did not suck up to BP as quickly as Ireland. :) He's probably more on the conservative side but a good sounding board for the likes of Jerra and the rest of the front office.

Thanks Snap. Sounds like we are putting our future in his hands. Hopefully ole
JJ has some confidence in him.

He's been the assistant director of college scouting for 7 years -- about since Ireland's been with the team. Why even discuss topics you don't know anything about?

That kind of extremist viewpoint works both ways. The "Parcells fans" are getting sick of the minimalization of everything that went on here from 2002-2006, as though Parcells' arrival and the reversal of our fortunes are mere coincidence. It's really annoying. Not that I believe everything is minimalized, but while we're playing this all-or-nothing game, I figured I might as well join in.

Once this guy's on your side, you know it's time to reconsider your position.

from a todd archer column:

As for possible replacements for Ireland, Tom Ciskowski, the team's assistant director of college scouting the last seven years, would be the top in-house candidate. Ciskowski has been with the Cowboys since 1992.

Well that just strengthens my point that he's not a good hire. He's been here so long, he's comfortable with Jerry and Jerry is no doubt comfortable that Ciswkowski won't try to challenge any of his decisions.

What has Ciskowski done in his 15 years here besides get passed over for Ireland's job? If he was worth a damn someone else would have hired him away, or better yet, he would have gotten the job Ireland got a few years ago.

Not sure if this was posted, but as for a replacement:

Jerry might just eliminate Ireland's position

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys have no plans to add anybody to the front office before the draft. And they might not ever replace former VP of college and pro scouting Jeff Ireland now that he's left to take the Miami GM gig.

Jerry pointed out that he has a director of college scouting (Tom Ciskowski) and a director of pro scouting (Brian Gaine) still on the payroll.

"So I don’t know that we need to replace Jeff," Jerry said.

Funny, I was under the impression that the job Ireland did around these parts was pretty important.
