I may be in the Minority here ..... but as much as I liked the late round gems we found with Ireland and Bill ......

The high draft choice flops have hurt this team as well.

J. Jones ...... Average since his first year.

Carpenter ..... shown nothing yet ..... borderline since its only his second year.

Spears ..... Average

Fasano ..... great talent but will only be worth his draft placement if our star TE gets injured.

Jacob Rogers ......Bust

Stephen Peterman ...... Bust

Bruce Thornton ..... Bust

Kevin Burnett ..... Average

Chris Canty ...... Average

Jason Hatcher ...... Average

Skyler Green ...... Bust

Thats a big list of 1st through 4th rounders ....... I do not think I will mind some fresh ideas.
You must prefer these 1st-4th round gems:

1994: Carver, Hegamin
1995: Sherman Williams, Kendall Watkins, Charlie (no relation to Sherm) Williams.
1996: Pittman, Shiver, Stepfret (no rel. to Charlie or Sherm) Williams
1997: Lafleur, Scifres, Wheaton
1999: Ekuban, Solly Page
2000: Goodrich, Larrimore
2001: Carter, Dixon

i wish there were some average players on this list.

Yeah, I remember that. Then, it was great when Chan Gailey and Dave Campo left us with one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, too. Oh, that didn't happen, you say?

Yes, arbitrary. You've taken something that wasn't accomplished and decided that's the be-all end-all to evaluating the success of a head coach, thereby ignoring all the good that was accomplished. That is extremely myopic.
Exactly. It's like saying the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens had comparable seasons this year.

Why? because they did not win a playoff game!

Crennel must suck.

ugh, my bad. It's not about winning Superbowls, it's just about having fun and personal goals.

If Crennel does not win a playoff game in Cleveland think anyone will remember this season? Not likely.

That is certainly not preferable. However, just because Ireland is leaving does not mean the organization will fall apart.

I agree and for those who are expecting the team to just fall apart I heard there is still room on the Miami bandwagon and don't let the door hit you on the way out. :lmao2:

Good. Maybe you should believe the articles that have been written about the subject, though.

I think you need to heed your own advice.

Man, that's brutal.

I know the names, but to see them all in print together. It's mind-boggling.

Even Daniel Snyder and Vinny Cerrato think that's awful.

You could put Richard Simmons, Charro, Britney Spears and a blind chimpanzee in a war room and they could draft better than that.

That's superpunk for ya. If Parcells farts, he'll be standing in the immediate vicinity of his rear-end inhaling deeply and telling everyone it doesn't stink.

No one is disputing that Ireland was here when BP arrived. BUT it was documented from several different sources that BP wanted Lacewell out due to the horredous drafting record. BP did the same thing here that he is doing in Miami= looking at the whole organization bottom up and talking to all the scouts and anyonewho has a real impact. BP does not trust anyone he does not know= so only after talking to Ireland would BP have decided that he was the guy. At that time BP had total control of the process as Jerrah had taken a step back, especially in the nuts and bolts area of scouting, etc. So there is NO way that Ireland is promoted without BPs sayso.THAT is made MORE clear NOW by the way Ireland has immediately left to work with BP again.

What's bad is that a lot of busted picks are just hindsight. Ryan Leaf was a huge bust, but just about everyone who ever watched him in college thought he was going to be great, including me. I wasn't a huge fan of the Bobby Carpenter pick at all, but I didn't consider it a huge reach and I'm kind of shocked he hasn't made more of an impact.

But some of those Lacewell picks were jaw dropping the day their names were mentioned... Tony Dixon? What was going on in the war room that day?

"Okay, who do we like in the 2nd round?"

"What about the safety from Alabama who runs the 4.85 and sat on the bench most of his senior year?"

"You think he's going to fall that far?"

Like I said - myopic. The team's been turned around. If you're going to be shortsighted with the Super bowl victories angle, I have no idea how you made it through so many years of Landry falling short.

Anything to add? Or just killing time until the decide to re-air Romper Room?

Very well put. God help us if Lacewell is really involved again.

That would be funny if it wasn't so true.

God what were they thinking that day.

Carter and Dixon in the same draft.

Unbelievable.

Only thing that needs to be said - 34-32 record and no playoff wins.

Of course, you'll just cover your ears and talk about what our team is doing now, under a new coach - while giving Parcells all the credit, of course.

There's really no point in debating it. I'm not going to change your opinion and you aren't going to change mine.

Draft Team- "Hey Mr. Lacewell, how are you doing today?"

Larry- "Oh, not so good, JJ slept with my wife. I just wish I knew some way to get even with that sob! If I could just....heyyyyy, I think I've got it. (pulls out cell phone) "Yeah Jerry, hope you enjoyed your night (sarcasm) anyway, I've got some inside info on this kid from Georgia, man is he a superstar waiting to happen. And to boot, there's this kid from Alabama that NOBODY knows about and he is a GEM! Alright, thanks JJ. Later."
Larry- Take that JJ! and while you're at it, keep my wife. :)
