Update: (Fake) Ware twitters “We’re Getting Close”

Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware didn’t specify the precise numbers, but indicated that a long-term contract extension is on the horizon.

In an exchange with fans on his Twitter account tonight, the Cowboys’ star pass rusher disclosed that a deal could happen soon.

“Yeah, we are getting close,” Ware wrote. “Looking to stay with the ‘Boys for a long time to come.”

In an earlier Tweet, Ware joked about the potential maximum value of the contract, saying it will be around $94 million before quickly saying he was kidding about that figure.

Presumably, though, a Ware contract extension would eclipse Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro outside linebacker James Harrison’s blockbuster deal.

Ware registered 20 sacks and 84 tackles last season for the Cowboys in his fourth NFL season.

For his career, Ware has recorded 297 tackles and 53 1/2 sacks.

Good to know. Although, there's never been a doubt in my mind (or most others here) that a deal will get done sooner or later.

I'd like to see it resolved before training camp, so the CAP picture is crystal clear if we want/need to add someone to the roster for any reason.
