FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that the Falcons have spoken with Bill Parcells about joining the organization, and the talks have gone well beyond the "exploratory" stage.

The man doesn't know how to quit. It's uncertain if Parcells is looking to coach or land a front office job, although most people believe the latter. The Dolphins have also reportedly shown interest. One also never knows with Parcells whether he's just trying to keep his name in the news for better gigs that may come along next month.

Those teams just want to make it to 9-7, thats why they are calling BP. They'll replace him when they are actually ready to make a run.

Do the right thing Miami. My wife needs something to cheer for. Who better than the greatest head coach and team builder of our era to make that happen for them?

Actually ESPN Radio is saying he would be in the Front Office and not coaching the players.

Atlanta offered him the title of VP or something like that, but he will not be coaching.

I think it is a great move on Atlanta's part. Like the Cowboys did, the Falcons Organization needs a kick in the butt and Parcells is the perfect guy to do it.

They are saying hes very close to accepting the Atlanta General Manager Job. Mike and Mike are talking about who will be the coach there.

I have a worry hes going to try to raid our players.

I hopw he goes to the AFC, or Jesus Christ in coaching shorts, will destroy our chances of a dynasty real quick. He'll have Atlanta in the playoffs and Super Bowl in a couple of years.............just like he did the Cowboys.

Most of our top players are close to being locked up.

I'm pretty sure that Hamlin will be offered a new contract.

And if we don't sign MBIII to a new contract, we'll probably tender him with a high offer as he is a restricted FA.

I doubt BP makes a move for TO. :laugh2:

That basically leaves Flo and Crayton. Not sure what we do with these two guys. But I'd bet we try to keep Flo. I doubt BP pays him excessively anyway.

Miami or Alt could use Parcells. These programs have been going no where and the future does not look very bright for either.

:hammer:

Like the Cowboys did, the Falcons fans should get their expectations up.

Personally, I think the Falcons are alot better than we were when Bill Parcells took over in 2003.

I don't remember how bad the Jets were before Parcells got there, but I have to believe the Cowboys were in alot worse shape than any team he had to re-build.

I would like to see Parcells rebuild Miami. I could care less about rebuilding Atlanta. Maybe Arthur Blank offered to push him around in a wheelchair to sweeten the deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bobby Carpenter excelled under a Parcells defense.

And yes, I am saying that with a straight face :D .

Hope he takes the job.. Love BP he is one of my favorites. Great talent evaluator and will have the Falcons back on the map in no time just like he did for us.

and i'd love to see that happen. but he didn't excel under a parcells D while here, so why there? what would be the difference? will parcells go 3-4 and draft all his friends grandsons?

Once he got a shot, Bobby Carpenter was one of the lone bright spots in a leaky defense at the bottom of the schedule last year.

The guy was impressive rushing the passer and against the run.

That is why I am so miffed that he cannot get on the field on defense.

I remember the Seattle game he played decent and made a few solid tackles on the edge. But impressive and bright spot? Carp has been neither.
