Heard them discussing him on the Draft Show. He sounded very intriguing.

Thus should be one of the easiest offseason upgrades on the team. And one that doesn't really cost us anything.

I think he'll be around in the 5th round honestly...

Well rounded college full backs are few and far between. So many teams are running some version of the chuck and duck they don't even have a full back on the roster. Most guys with full back size end up playing another position like LB, DE, or TE.

Of the few good fullbacks you coming out most are one dimensional blockers only, so if you see a really good one coming out they always go before you thought they would.

Don't be afraid to take a guy earlier than internet "scouts" have them ranked if you think he's a perfect fit (Frederick, Hitchens).

I don't know if I even want to spend a 4th on a FB if he does not play more than 10 snaps per game like Clutts this year.

I'd be ok with spending a 4th on Fowler. As a Alabama native and watching every Crimson Tide game. Fowler can be a serious X-factor for teams to watch out for. Lane Kiffin, would have Defensive coordinators tossing and turning at night wondering were Cooper would be but also worrying about Fowler would line up. On several occasions you would see Fowler motion out of the back field to out wide then, if matched up against a LB, run a slant. Also motioning to the TE position and running a Seam route right down the middle to gash the Defense.

Fowler would be a great addition to a already potent offense also Kids as good of a down hill runner as Legarratte Blount

Serious X factor. I'm not that impressed with his blocking but he adds so many dimensions. He's like a Swiss Army knife. He can play 5 rolls easily. Can save you a roster spot in game day as FB and your 3rd RB.

Our 3rd round pick is the same as a 4. Keep that in mind.

I liked it back when they used Jesse Williams as a FB. He was the best Lineman playing FB that I've seen.

Replace "JC Copeland" with that guy's name and this is the exact conversation people were having last year. I think Clutts is pretty good and to spend a draft pick on 10 plays a game would be dumb, especially when you have a serviceable player.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Clutts seemed to grow more as the season developed.

There seems to be a fullback fetish that shows up around here every draft for some reason that I do not quite understand.

Ain't spending no 4th round pick on no fullback.

But we can still improve that position at the bottom of the draft or in FA. That guy should be able to block in space and dig a CB out of a hole under any circumstance. If it's a toss-up, then you don't have the right guy leading the way. Clutts can block ok in space, but he just not a good enough blocker that you don't push to improve his position when you can.
