The Cowboys are not playing about finding pass rushers in 2019. After agreeing to a deal with Kerry Hyder, they’ve turned their attention to Miami Dolphins DE Robert Quinn. The two-time Pro Bowler is not a free agent but has been made available on the trade block by the Dolphins. He still has one year remaining on his contract and Miami is looking to get some level of draft compensation for Quinn’s services.
Quinn has played almost exclusively on the right side of the defensive line for his entire career, matching up against left tackles. He has 69 career sacks with 6.5 coming in 2018 and averages a sack every two games over the last four seasons. He’d be a bookend to DeMarcus Lawrence if he were to join the Cowboys.
The Dolphins are willing to pay part of his $11.8 million salary, according to the Miami Herald, and waited until after they paid the $1 million-plus roster bonus he was due at the start of the 2019 league year. Dallas, who has lost Randy Gregory to another indefinite suspension and are currently in negotiations with DeMarcus Lawrence, could certainly use more pass-rush help.
Robert Quinn was spotted today on his way to visit the #Cowboys, who are in trade talks with the #Dolphins for the veteran DE, sources say. Quinn would need to agree to any deal. So, this is another step in the process, with a Dallas team that obviously needs pass rush.

Quinn was traded to Miami at the beginning of the 2018 season. A 2011 first-round draft pick, Quinn spent the first seven years of his career with the Rams, first in St. Louis and then Los Angeles.
The Cowboys however are not the only team engaged in trade talks with the Dolphins. New Orleans is also reportedly in the mix.
The New Orleans Saints have also had trade talks with the Miami Dolphins about DE Robert Quinn.
