Another day at The Star, another free agent safety getting the nickel tour. The week had already seen the Dallas Cowboys entertain Eric Berry and Clayton Geathers. Geathers ultimately re-signed with Indianapolis, and while Berry is still in play, he has some medical red flags in his file.

On Friday, the Cowboys hosted seven-year veteran George Iloka. The one-time Bengal and more-recent Viking met with Dallas coaches and front office personnel, but ultimately left the facility without an offer.

The Cowboys' visit with George Iloka has ended. A source said it went well, but the sides have not talked about a deal yet. Iloka is the third safety to visit The Star this week and leave without a contract, joining Clayton Geathers and Eric Berry…. https://t.co/s2BemFBTms

Iloka was a fifth-round draft selection in 2012 by the Bengals, where former Cowboys staffer Mike Zimmer was then defensive coordinator. After 9 interceptions over 6 seasons in Cincinnati, Iloka met with the Cowboys, but ended up signing a one-year deal that reunited him with Zimmer as his head coach in Minnesota for the 2018 campaign.

During his collegiate career at Boise State, Iloka was a teammate of both defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford and newly-named offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
