Hot off the presses, the Dallas Cowboys’ 2019 regular season schedule is burning a hole through laptops everywhere. As one of the best traveling fanbases in the history of history, Cowboys Nation is collectively getting in touch with their travel agents to take advantage of the eight road games and eight home games spread across four months.

There are always some interesting quirks to the schedule, some things to get upset over and some things to get a false sense of security from, so what better time to jump into analyzation than two minutes after it becomes official and 8 days before the draft even takes place?

First, here’s the complete schedule.

  • America’s Team. With five prime-time games (W4 @ NO, W7 vs PHI, W9 @ NYG, W10 vs MIN and W14 @ CHI) combined with Thanksgiving against Buffalo, that’s six of 16 games when the entire football world will only be watching Dallas. 6 more contests they’ll be the late afternoon national game, meaning the majority of the country will get 12 of Dallas’ games this year.
  • The toughest stretch is clearly between Week 12 and Week 16, where Dallas will face four opponents in five games against playoff teams, and the other team they’ll both be on just three-days rest. The combined 2018 record of those squads is 51-29.
  • During that stretch, the Cowboys have a chance to feel a deep chill. They are going on the road to New England, Chicago and Philadelphia after November 20. That Chicago deep-freeze game from a few years ago comes to mind.
  • Dallas has an all-time record of 310-231-4 against their 13 opponents this year. The Cowboys have a winning record against 11 of them, all except the Miami Dolphins (6-7) and the Green Bay Packers (13-15).
  • Jason Garrett will face off against 3 Super Bowl winning head coaches (Sean Payton Week 4, Doug Pederson Weeks 7 & 16, Bill Belichick Week 12). Cole Beasley’s revenge game is going to be on Thanksgiving so he can hang with his Texas family.
  • Hardly any travel. The furthest west the Cowboys will play this season is actually Dallas. The most west-bound road game for the club is New Orleans in Week 4, followed by Chicago in Week 14. The furthest roadtrip is to Foxboro, MA to see the Patriots, 1,749.1 miles.
  • Dallas had a regular-season record of 7-1 in 2018 against teams that are on their 2019 schedule (2-0 vs NYG & PHI, 1-1 vs WAS, wins vs NO, DET). They did lose to the Rams in the playoffs.
  • 5 of first 6 opponents missed the playoffs in 2018; things are aligned to hopefully get a fast start out of the gate for Dallas. Two of those games will be against rookie head coaches (Miami, Green Bay)
  • The Cowboys get 10 days to prepare for the rematch against the Los Angeles Rams, after they had 14 days to prepare for the Cowboys in the divisional round of the playoffs.
  • Dallas essentially begins with three straight home games, considering how there’s always more fans at Fed Ex Field in blue than in burgundy. Cowboys invade Commanders Country in Week 2.
  • There shouldn’t be a game after Week 11’s noon tilt against the Lions where fans across the country have trouble watching Dallas until the season finale against Washington.
  • Dallas never plays back-to-back home games and play back-to-back road games once. The team plays at home the week before the bye and the week after the mini-bye, giving them two true breaks.
  • All of their 6 NFC East battles happen in back-to-back weeks: 1 & 2, 7 & 9 (bye in Week 8), 16 & 17.
