:starspin If the Cowboys do pull off a trade for WR Roy Williams (Lions) should they use their Franchise Tag on him next season? True, he is a wide receiver, but he's young and he's a stud receiver who would only benefit from Romo's playmaking ability.

This is too much speculation for a variety of reasons. If we did get him, and to me that is a huge if, whats to say they wouldn't resign him during the season rather than wait?

The Cowboys would work out an extension with him BEFORE they traded for him. You don't risk a high draft pick without knowing you'll have the guy for more than one year.

BIGDAVE is right. you don't make the trade unless you have a deal.

You better believe the Cowboys must have a deal in place with RWilliams before they agree to make the trade. Anything else would be playing with fire. BTW: my first choice is Fitz of the Cards.

I think that is the typical first choice of people around here but it's not even remotely a possibly to have Fitz, where as there is at least a slim possibility to get Roy.
