Just looking at the Boys site on ESPN I noticed we have only given up 32 points total this preseason and I was like wow I knew we had played good D but only 32 so I looked at all the other teams and we have given up the least amount of points in the NFL the Eagles (I mention them due to hating them so much) have given up 69 (love the number) but that's a lot of points even in preseason. I just found this intresting and thought some of you might as well.

I know its preseason but anytime the Boys do well I'm happy and with BP the preseason helps set the tempo for the regular season.....

The most impressive part of our defense this preseason has to be the knack for forcing turnovers. Been a very long time since we fans have seen that on a regular basis.
The big hits are really great to see too, and a large part of our early season success will hinge on the corners and Davis being able to cover well so Roy can play up and be a force near the line of scrimmage. As we get further in to the season the rookies will learn quickly and while it will be important Roy wont be shouldering so much of the load later in the season.
Still would like to see more than Ware and Burnett pressuring the QB however.

Preseason stats are useless. Don't make too much of it and don't get too excited.

The Bears are 3-1 in preseason.

Nuff said.

actually 9 points should be take off of that total, because it was our special teams that gave up those poit in the houston game, not the defense. so actually our defense only gave up 23 points this preseason. not too bad i think

Silverbear brought up this subject the other day. Not sure how relevant statistics are as each team has their own agenda on how they effectively evaluate their personnel.

But nonetheless, we've looked remarkedly better on defense and as someone has posted, we're getting more turnovers. Hopefully, this can carry over to the regular season.

I think we can get excited, because that shows you that BP is not in the business of letting teams score.

I don't mind a grind it out offense this year, if we can somehow hold the other team down enough to outscore them.

It's funny how teams are still trying to throw out these outstanding Offenses while forgetting what wins championships-i.e. Lions & Rams.
