If vacarro is tough so is Kurt Coleman. Who has he ever layed out? Such a tough safety should have a big hit to reference. Smh

If all you want is a tough safety who can lay someone out...let's go get Roy Williams back.

If we draft a safety I hope it is not because he can lay someone out, I hope it is because he can cover and help create some turnovers.

I am silly like that.

This. I'm not sure Vacarro is that guy. I hear people using the excuse that he didn't create many turnovers or make lots of impact plays because he was also playing CB. I think that is a bogus excuse because CB's can also create turnovers and make a big impact. I just thin he has terrible ball skills and I don't know if that skill set is what is needed for a team that is already turnover-deficient.

I can't say at this stage I have a top pick, there are several I like Vacarro is just one of them. I personally think this draft sets up good for the needs the Cowboys must address.

I agree. An exceptional draft, and good health, can put this team in prime contention! Let's hope Jerry, Garrett and the Boys get it right!

The expectation is that the new scheme will make everyone, including a possible rookie safety, a turnover machine. At least that is what I hope if they do take Vaccaro!

Yeah I don't know that he is that guy either.

I just meant the aspect that I would rather have a coverage guy and I don't care about someone who can lay someone else out. Frankly that type of hybrid safety that is more like a SS that the cowboys FO have been touting over the years has not really paid off to well for them.

If that means another safety in the draft I am ok with it.

However if the top two OGs are off the board, If Richardson is off the board and if Tavon is off the board (homer pick) Unless someone else falls that nobody seen happening (like one of the top OTs or Star) I don't see the problem with taking Vaccaro.

He is not my personal pick or desire but I can't fault them for taking the best available player at that spot and if those scenarios fall into place I think he would be the BPA at that point.

This pretty much sums up my own feelings. I won't be made with the Vacarro pick provided it's justified by the circumstances of the draft.

I have yet to see any safety ranking above Vacarro I don't think it is by accident that he is ranking above other at the position. Yes I'm a Longhorns fan and like him but I have never cared what school a draft prospect comes from when the Cowboys are on the clock. Heck last Texas player I felt was a top prospect and I was hoping the Cowboys could get him was Earl Thomas.

Oh please. First of all, of Roy Williams actually cared about football he would've been Pollard on steroids. Secondly, I didn't say that I wanted a hard hitter. I said where I'd the proof that this guy is so tough and rugged. It's nowhere because it's not true. Eric Reid will without a doubt be a better NFL safety. I just hope Jerry isn't dumb enough to take this soft dude who can't make plays.

Then you did not watch him play. Funny those who have and scouting reports say otherwise. :laugh2:

Disgusting. Same feeling I got when all we heard about was Felix Jones predraft. Stop it Jerry. He's not worth it.

Don't worry we did the same thing with Merriman. It just means we're not going to draft Vacarro.

I know BP really like Merriman, thankfully Ireland like Ware better. :lmao2:

I'm sure they like Vaccaro however I think Cooper and Warmack are higher up on their boards....

IMO, using our first on a S would be a colossal waste unless he turns into the next Ed Reed, which I tend to doubt. I just really don't see a big difference in talent in the pool of S's this draft and most of them will go in the mid 2nd to late 3rd. Also I think OL is far more important and if none of our top 3 OL were available at 18, I still think value would be DT or trade down over taking Vaccaro

Atleast I see some Cowboy fans aren't out of their minds.
