Makes sense to me we are pretty inexperienced at that position for the right price Avant or Burleson would be ok. I thought Avant signed somewhere though, that guys made big catches in critical parts of games.

I could see this happening. I see us picking up at least 1 more veteran receiver and he already knows the system. We should be able to get Burleson on a cap friendly contract.

Not before the draft. I don't see any reason especially with this draft deep in WRs to sign a vet right now. We have Dez, Williams, Harris, Beasley and some practice squad guys. I am guessing we will draft another WR and sign one or two as undrafted FAs.

I like the idea.

Of course, it go against convention wisdom that all FA signings and drafts be geared for our defense.
but our defense is so bad and inexperienced that no single signing willl make it better.

Maybe the thinking at Valley Raunch is that better to have an improved offense that will control the ball and keep it away from the opposing team than to go all out for a defense that will take years to rebuild.

OK, don't ever body "like" my post at the same time and clog the system. Cowboyfan4 life, you can go first.

Wouldn't be a terrible idea with Burleson knowing Linehan's system. On the cheap though.

I'm all for just letting the young guys go out and get experience. Stop stunting growth and get some production out of the rookies while they're still on the cheap.

Pretty sure Avant signed with the Chiefs and Reid.

TWill would still start. I see it as veteran insurance that isn't named Miles Austin who could fill in for a few games on the outside if need be. If we had some promising young WRs on the team I would hesitate but Harris/Beasly aren't starting material.

Queue the sound of crickets chirping.

*Well, that didn't turn out right. Supposed to be quoting Gimmie's post.

To me, this is something we look at post-draft b/c I think WR is a round 2 or 3 target - if we don't get who we want, we likely work on the vets

T-Will would start but the Cowboys have to consider worst-case scenarios. If Dez goes down, T-Will becomes the #1. Can the Cowboys handle that? They need a vet with experience to back up both WRs -- preferably one who has started in the league.

Now like mine.

I just dont see Burleson here. Think he would want more money than we'd offer and he could get it elsewhere. But he would make the best sense.
A vet would be good to have just in case of injury or TWill struggles.

Moore signed with the Steelers today and Bennett has been linked to rejoin Lovie Smith in Tampa Bay.

We're agreeing ;)
