I don't think anyone here is rooting against him. I can see how it may seem that way since a few, including me, don't believe he won't do all that well. Nonetheless, I don't any opinions I've read have been malicious.
I am (not to get hurt or anything). I just don't want other teams to do well especially the nfc teams.

Eh to each his own...

I rooted heavily against Martellus Bennett, so I'm not going to pretend like I don't understand. But I also had other motives for wanting him to fail.

Good move by him. With that offense, they'll most likely be playing with many leads so Butler can do what he does best and just tee off on rushing the passer.

Surprised that Wade Phillips didn't want him in Houston, especially since they could use some depth now that Connor Barwin signed with Philly.

He is a bit of a tease but is probably good for 6 or 7 sacks for the Saints. It's good to see the roster being churned.

Desperation signing.

Now that they're switching to a 3-4 defense they have no talent at OLB. A weak FA class this year and no blue chip OLB in the draft.

They needed someone badly and with Spencer being franchised they had to take whatever they could get.

Victor Butler is by far their best pass rushing OLB. That defense is going to be abysmal.

this draft is full of blue chip OLB pass rushers

I think he'll be a good pass rusher for the Saints and I'm rooting for him, but MAN the Saints run defense just got worse! Anyone remember him in the Bills game in 2011? They put V. Butler in and Fred Jackson all of a sudden started gashing the Cowboy's run defense!

i wouldn't be surprised if he had 8 to 10 sacks.i always thought he was the best pure rusher on the team.

What?

I would be concerned that he blossoms in New Orleans but the best on the team?

I am too. But a big part of me doubts that it will go well. I mean... Ryan preferred to play a very, very banged up Ware instead of Butler toward the end of the season.

Yea I think you may be right.....but I do think sometimes a change of scenery is much needed for both parties sort of like Martellus last season. I expect Jenkins, Felix and Butler to find homes and have some success.

Well that was a productive 2009 draft :laugh2:

Yes, from now until forever Jerry even mentioning trading down will strike fear in my heart.

In all fairness I did as well. Some players deserve it moreso than others. It is hard for me to like Dallas players if they sign with NFC east teams.

I don't blame them because of the money, but as a fan I disapprove.

I also wish Rob Ryan a succesful season. I liked him as D coordinator.

Saints are pretty much the home for ex Cowboys linebackers anyway.

Good luck to Victor there, I always kind of rooted for him.

Too bad for Victor. Rob Ryan will probably having him covering receivers down field.

I am so glad this guy is gone.

Nothing against him as a guy, but never has so much adulation been thrown the way of a below average player around here in my memory.

Dude was an average pass rusher, and horrificly bad against the run.

I don't know about that. Otree caught a couple screens, ran 10 yards after the catch and seemed to develop a cult following. And Phillips caught a few passes and was suddenly the next great TE on the team. It happens, we fans get excited seeing some positive plays and get carried away with it thinking they will do it every play.
