Good call. The guy got both hands on Austin. He briefly hooked him with one hand, which slowed Austin every so slightly. That is what cause the feet to get tangled.

I agree that Dallas still would have won if it was not called. That play was on first down. Dallas would have had more opportunities to keep moving the ball and would have ended up burning more time off the clock.

I could have seen them letting one hand grabbing Austin go ina big game like this but he grabs him TWICE. I don't understand why NFL network kept showing it over and over and talking about it as if it was some phatom call and Austin was never touched. It was clear as day.

I don't get it at all. How can you not call that pass interference?

we would have won anyway

Williams was clearly beat, he was reaching onto Miles' shoulder and arm. Your arms are used to generate more speed and momentum while running and by Williams grasping him impedes his progress.......simple as that

as has been noted, something had to be called...you cant touch the receivers after 5yds, that was about 40or so yds downfield and their guy clearly has his hands on him...it was either PI, illegal contact or defensive holding

as we have seen in the past (ie Kevin Smith, Mario Edwards, the Pats vs the Colts a couple of yrs ago to name a few) once you get a rep for mauling WR's they are going to start calling things more closely...the Pack DB's clearly have a rep for playing physical and hitting, grabbing and chucking guys

even w/o the penalty, it wasnt like they were stopping us...to say we definitely wouldnt have scored is kinda of stupid on some people's behalf...we ended up with 37 pts and over 400 yds of offense...we had a bad play call on 4th down and a totally bizarre drop/int in the endzone, otherwise we might have had 45-50 pts on them

Exactly, the Pack couldn't stop us. We only stopped ourselves on a couple of bad throws by Romo (or possible wrong routes being ran by the receivers)

I thought there was enough hand-contact to call it, but I'm curious if leg-tangling is ever grounds for a PI call. It honestly looked to me like the DB intentionally collided leg-to-leg. Can a DB intentionally trip a WR and get away with it? It might be a smart strategy if one can get away with it.

Bingo. That is the same reason I thought the zebras would not call it. And one of them WAS going to let it pass. I was screaming at the TV from the moment Williams grabbed Austin until the flag came down 45 to 60 seconds later.

Defender was beat and he knew it. He knew the ball was coming so He did what he had to do to stop the reciever from catching the ball. He grabbed him, pushed him, and then tripped him.

If you run over a reciever and knock him down, are you not supposed to call pass interference if they dont use my hands?

Just because incidental contact is usually not called when players trip doesn't mean it shouldn't be called when it is deliberate.

The only reason for not gicing that call is that it may have been uncatchable which is why I thought it took them so long to throw the flag.

2 hands plus a trip for good measure, I think we can all agree that is pass interference.
