Why did Champ dodge T.O.?
T.O. would have lit him up like a rented Christmas tree in those drills and practices.
I just watched the clip, and Pacman just gave an honest opinion about the two receivers. O.K., his last statement wasn't very diplomatic. I'll give you that, theebs. However, I have to tell you, Pacman didn't talk smack in the media about other teams' players when he played with the Titans. The spotlight is really on him now that he is in Dallas. The team leaders will keep him on guard when it comes to stuff like this in the future, I think. He told the truth. At least, he didn't tell the Giants "we marked our territory" or talk about the Giants being scared of us when explaining that team's propensity to talk trash. Crayton high-jacked the Giants' big mouths with that one interview after that game. The third match-up was looming all along.
However, it isn't like we play them this year. I wouldn't worry at all about this. I know I put this in the other thread, but it is worth noting:
5.4 YPA (2006) Pacman's YPA was 8th in the league. Newman's best was 5.7 YPA.
Pacman's two year average YPA was 6.3. (2005-2006)
Newman's was 6.2 YPA. (2003-2006)
Henry's was 7.4 YPA (2003-2006)
According to Joyner, the league average YPA is about 7.0 YPA.
When Pacman gets his feet under him (knocks off the rust) and gets his timing down and gets some live action under his belt, he is taking Henry's starting spot, imo. That 6.3 YPA tells me that Pacman wasn't giving up a ton of big plays during his only two years in the league. His two year average is above the league average, and while Newman played two more years in Vela's calculations (because Pacman only has two years of experience), Pacman's average YPA is just one tenth less than Newman's. Plus, I will straight-up come out and say it. I think Terence Newman has been a much more consistent player than Champ Bailey. I have some data to back it up, too. In fact, I think Newman is better than Bailey.
When you consider that Pacman isn't even in his prime (just 24) and he basically won three games for the Titans in 2006 with punt returns and pick sixes for TDs and when you see that 5.4 YPA he put up during his last year, you can understand why Dallas took a chance on him.
