• Raghib Ismail: Even though Randy was very passionate about player interaction with coaches, I somewhat agree with Rocket that if you're a player and you ask a coach what kind of message they are trying to send the team IF THE MESSAGE ISN'T CLEAR, you would be curious to find out what the message should be.

That's one of Wade Phillips failures as a coach, namely, he doesn't present a clear coaching philosophy for ALL his players (zero exceptions) to follow. That kind of murky direction was absent from Tom Landry's Cowboys, Jimmy Johnson's Cowboys and almost completely absent from Bill Parcells' Cowboys. That's the number one thing which he must fix to be successful here.

On the topic of distractions, you have repeatedly stated that players aren't influenced whatsoever by the actions or commentary of their teammates and their performance while doing their jobs aren't affected one bit.

Now, these are professional athletes I'm referring to, being paid enormous sums of money to play a game in front of thousands each Sunday. On the other hand, let's take a look at ourselves for a moment.

Two posters. Not being compensated one dime by CowboysZone to post here. This isn't a job for us. It's a hobby at best. And yet, if someone here were to reply to us in a fashion that we wouldn't accept, we react... to a distraction.

Why is that, 5Countem5? What makes us, two human beings, so much less impervious to a distraction, than other human beings making hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars playing a game? Just curious.

What makes you think it is a distraction? Wasn't even a blip on my radar, like a gnat being shooed away or smashed.

I don't recall the entire specifics of the White/Haley story, but it was something like Haley rode his motorcycle inside Randy White's restaraunt, and White asked him to get a cab home, since Haley was drunk. Haley shoved White and then White knocked him cold.

There was also a story where Haley badgered Chan Hennings until Hennings slammed Haley's head through a window.
