What Michael is missing though on garrett is that He gets outcoached consistently every Sunday, once the season gets rolling the first month is great, but it seems like he shows all his cards early and sticks with them throughout the whole season, that is bad coaching on the offensive side...
The fact that garrett FAILED to counter defenses this year proves that he is at best a below average Offensive cordinator and not ready to be a HC in the NFL...He might be smart...SO? lots of guys are smart and are still clueless.....
Its been mentioned before but the one weakest spot is Procter playing most of the year at LG. You can't counter a defensive scheme when they know your weakest link. Even if the blitzing is coming from the other side, Dallas had to babysit Procter. Think of Flozell. The man can barely remember the snap count yet most of the year he had to hold Procter's hand.
I believe that if Holland doesn't get hurt and played in the Baltimore game, we win. Maybe the Philly game would've been different then. It's amazing how Kyle Kosier was such an important cog in the oline.
Another issue is having a rookie RB picking up blitzes. Choice is a great pick and will be a good pro. But the main reason he wasn't playing before injuries to Barber was that he was still learning pass protection. He did well but also missed a few blocks on blitzes.
All of that being said. The sky is not falling. Remember, these players and coaches that we live and die over from week to week don't even know we exist. So don't beat yourselves up in over-analyzing and wondering "why are they doing this to me". 2009 is a new year. Yes, it sucks that the draft is pretty much ruined but remember the players we got late in the draft last year. At least the scouting dept. is doing a fine job.
You have to experience some lows before you can reach the height of success. Some will be gone. Some will return. Players will want to play harder after such disappointment.
