Ware and Brooking talking to Romo. Good friend of mine Soothsayer was on DCF radio with me tonight and mentioned this as well.

The chemistry on this team is a now a strong point. That's awesome.

I think when you listen to Jimmy it's easy to see why he was such a good 'leader' of men.

I totally agree with him about Roy. Move on from stressing the issue of him being more than he is now and worry about going with the things that are working with other players.

Miss ya Jimmy.

Good stuff.

I always enjoy Jimmy's opinions on things. His perceptive abilities and his psychology degree (not to mention his Super Bowls and collegiate national title), make his interviews a must-see or must-hear.

Oh, sorry Jerry. You're smart, too.

Miss ya Jimmy.

been wishing the anti-roy crowd would do that for quite awhile now. maybe we can - it would be nice to just get some production out of him and all realize he ain't ever gonna be more than he is.

I'm glad Jimmy is staying close to the Cowboys.

That guy is really smart.

He knows how to push the right buttons.

O.K., this has to be put to rest. Jimmy Johnson on more than one occasion has stated that he WAS NOT GOING TO COME BACK TO DALLAS AFTER THAT SEASON. I just saw it again on NFL network during the 93 America's Game re-airing. Johnson did not want to return to Dallas. He knew even when we won Super Bowl XXVIII that it was probably his last game as a Cowboy. Jerry had been trying to extend Jimmy's contract for weeks during that season. Jimmy was non-committal. Jones had no choice but to move on. I'll take Jerry Jones to task on a lot of things. The Jimmy Johnson departure is not one of them.

So why did Jimmy not want to stay with the Cowboys?

Some percentage of this answer has to do with Jerry not just wanting to run the business side of the team anymore. Jerry was bored of that stuff and everything was in place as far as marketing the team and making money.

After the '92 Super Bowl win Jerry became more and more involved with the daily 'football operations' and that was invading Jimmy's space.

So you can't say Jerry had nothing to do with Jimmy leaving.

AND JERRY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS DECISION OR INFLUENCE IT IN ANY WAY?
