I could be wrong, but I'm not sure Austin knows what he is talking about when it comes to the offensive line. He might, but just the fact he mispronounced Kosier's name doesn't bode well.

How'd he mispronounce it? He called him Koz-yure.

I think Austin will be good this yr. He does a nice job of baiting and shielding the corner for the catch.

other factors include:
a) he's quick / fast

b) has known he'll get his chance to start since departure of T O ,focusing on oppertunity.

c) Inked a short contract and needs to impress durring that time frame.

Miles has a good attitude and I feel he'll try hard to earn the star...

Doesn't it concern you that it's not Gurode?

No doubt he's the best blocking center in the NFC, but, to give you a dose of your own medicine, that's not all a center does. A center needs to snap the ball, and he needs to be the QB of the OL (make the blocking assignment calls). I don't think Kosier is such a good blocker that we missed him last year. I think Gurode didn't have anyone to make the calls for him when Kosier was out. That's a big weakness for a center in my book.

You don't think we missed Kosier last year? WHAT? You ever heard of a guy called Cory "I'm still in my stance-I hope you're not gettin killed back there" Proctor?

They HAVE to work someone else at backup center. If anything happens to Gurode we're not beating anyone with better than "in the league" interior lineman. Unreal that he's still on the team after last year and that he looks to be a lock to make this year's roster.

The center calls the signals for the line since he is the ONLY player that has full vision of the entire line.

Couldn't disagree more. Best Center in the NFC by a wide margin. Was a so so Guard.

Agreed. I don't know where some of these people come from but they leave themselves open to people questioning their IQ (not just football IQ either). For those who watch the game and having a working understanding of the game; the argument for a new center is utterly baseless at best and idiotic at the worse.

Regarding Miles. I could give a flip about his attitude if it doesn't translate into similar or better production then TO. I am hoping he rises to the occasion because we are going to need him in order to be successful this season.

No reason to not have a great blocking center and one who can make the calls and snap the ball well enough.

The answer is not to replace Gurode but for him to improve on snapping.

I understand the rumor is Gurode can't make the calls. Show me where that is a fact and not a rumor.

The problem on the team is not Gurode but the lack of Gurode's backup.

Out of curiosity, how many bad snaps did Gurode even have last year?

One or two? I can live with that.
