I have no idea if Mort is correct in his thinking, but I really hope he is and I do hope that player comes from the draft.

There are some guys in this thing that could become very dynamic weapons in the slot should the Cowboys be looking to do so.

Here are a few names: Dexter McCluster from Ole Miss, Mardy Gilyard from Cincy, Golden Tate from Notre Dame, Jordan Shipley from Texas, Jacoby Ford from Clemson, Antonio Brown from Central Michigan.

All of those would be good fits IMO.

Shipley is what the offense needs desperately.

lol desperately?? come on now, this offense moved the ball just fine.. What they need is Martellus Bennett & Roy Williams to step up plus giving the reigns to Felix Jones. That right there would help a ton, plus there is a kid named Ogletree. Come on now people, some of u guys just want every single player right now, but yeah it would be cool to get Shipley in the slot. Are we DESPERATELY in need???? NO Are more weapons needed and would they be a nice addition, sure... but relax

I'm not sure about him, did you get to see him play alot this year? I have to admit work and school kept me from catching all but a few college games this year. From what I've read he's smart, quick, and has good hands, but doesn't really shine in any one area... is this accurate? I really am just not familiar w/his game.

I'm a self proclaimed draft addict and need to get familiar w/these guys quick and I'm behind schedule:)

Yes i didn’t studder. Not comment on the two current players you mentioned. Sure the offense put up alot of yards but not points. The offense desperately needs speed at WR. If Romo can do something with a nobody like O-Tree...just imagine a REAL WR? Or if Romo can use a slow Crayton, imagine someone like Shipley in the slot? Also, next season defenses will have an answer for Austin. He won’t run wild like he did, you need someone in the slot to open up stuff. And if Austin gets hurt...you want (you know who) and Crayton as your starting WRs??? Yes...the Cowboys need to be desperate.

I don’t follow College ball, but i saw one game and that is all i needed to see. He single handedly brought Texas back in the bowl game.

Others have mentions some other similar players. I would be open to any of them if they can play in the NFL.

well I can let you know he was a stud all year and shook people like crazy with his route running abilities & has a great set of hands.. It would be pretty exciting if we drafted Ship, but you calling Ogletree a slouch like it and that Romo can make a nobody like him into something.. Romo isn't the reason Ogletree made this team, the dude worked his butt off and when given the chance always came in and took advantage of the few opportunities he had. Trust me, he will get better and better. Can't wait to see what Ogletree has to offer in 2010

Sound about right. Need o-line help though and the O would be relentless.

A quick slot receiver makes sense. Alot of teams are looking for that Wes Welker type who can get open quick underneath and move the chains. I would be all for the Cowboys adding a player like that to the mix.

RW and Bennet need to step up yes, but we need to be realistic. RW had plenty of opportunity to do so, so lets get someone now before it is too late.

After Austin, there is unknown or mediocre. Why not pull the trigger because we are that close.
