I think it's Garrett. He's the one who has to make sure he devises an offensive game plan to make up for the loss of Terrell Owens while using the multitude of weapons still at his disposal.

I have always said the offense will look different without Turd-O, but that doesn't mean it can't be just as productive as it has been when it was at it's best over the last few seasons.

And don't forget Felix is coming back. I think Garrett has big plans for him and rightfully so.

Far more pressure on Romo for one very simple reason. He is the QB of America's Team and some want to believe he submarined TO. There are media who want to believe that so they can run with the story like a scalded ape.

As long as Romo doesn't turn the ball over too much then it'll be Garrett. He's responsible for the offense.

Excuses don't work for long in this league.

The pressure is all on Romo. And rightfully so.

You're not going to be able to judge his progress going forward by numbers though, his stats will most certainly drop drastically, imo. It's going to be his demeanor, and his ability to lead this team late in the year.

18-24 TDs, 3,000 yards, and a strong showing in December is a win for him. The days of 30-35 tds and 4,000 yards are long gone, imo.

Man seeing the video of TO crying just makes me remember what a golden opportunity that 2007 team wasted.

I think TO gets alot of blame for stuff that is not his fault. He is an easy scapegoat. That being said, he deserves alot of it too.

But man, that 2007 team was something special, and they blew it. Not to mention after we saw him crying we all thought the same thing: He's a real Cowboy now.

of course romo is gonna feel the heat a lot more although we all know it deserves to be on garrett

its put up or shut up time for red. if he does another terrible job this season everyone will be calling for his head and he can kiss his dreams of being a head coach goodbye

if you ask me the pressure is on Garrett. Rightfully so? maybe not, but here is why. If the dallas cowboys don't meet Jerrys expectations this season, whatever those expectations are, Garrett (and wade) will be gone, Romo will not. Barring something just out of this world, Romo will be our QB regardless of what happens this season, the same CANNOT be said for Garrett.

The bigger question is... Even with the pressure on both Romo and Garrett, Could either one of them still manage to blow as hard as the Mets?

Mets of 2007 and 2008 = Denver Broncos of 2008. :laugh2:

I think this is a great point.

I think publicly and in the media, Romo's got more pressure for sure.

He's the quarterback of America's Team.

He's also a guy with a history of late-season struggles.

That's a lot more appealing to the masses than a coach is.

But privately, behind the scenes, Garrett's got way more pressure.

The team has millions of reasons to have to keep Romo, no matter what.

The same can't be said of Garrett.

If his offense doesn't produce, he's out with the rest of the staff, in favor of the next 'fix'.

I think the pressure was on no matter if TO remained or not. Dallas greatly under achived this past season and with TO we have not seen playoff success. There is no doubt pressure in on but that was going to be a given no matter what Dallas did this off season or not

Romo will be judged on overall production (or lack of). He's going from a proven commodity to an unknown (w/ tons of potential now that he's w/ a real offense).

But the pressure should be on Garrett. It's Garrett's job to make sure there's a scheme that Romo/Witten/Roy/Crayton/Austin/Barber/Jones/Choice/Bennett can be productive in without the benefit of the attention Owens attracts on the field.

Above all, he's got 3 different but solid RBs. Each brings something different and should essentially have a scheme planned around their abilities rather than trying to mold them into a one-size-fits-most gameplan. Focusing on the run games takes pressure off of Romo, the WRs and the TEs (as pass catchers). We shall see...

No doubt but don't you think the pressure would be on Garrett even if TO had returned? It is part of coaching when you don't live up to expectation you will come under fire. If he fails there is a chance he could get fired if we win then he has a chance to remain and or elevate his position

I believe the pressure on Romo and Garrett are equal. As a collective group I think the pressure is on the entire team to step up.

Romo

although Jerry Jones didn't exactly say it, releasing TO was so that the O could be more "Romo-friendly"

I interpret it that getting rid of TO was so that Romo isn't saddled with the idea that he has to feed TO the ball, so that he has more freedom to just play

Without a question it's Romo. This one really isn't even close.

I agree. If the offense fails, Jason Garrett will be just another coordinator that didn't work out. Romo will be around for a quite a while to take the heat.

But I don't put a lot of stock in this whole premise to begin with. Why do we automatically have to level our crosshairs on some particular person just because TO is gone? I think the offense will be fine spreading the ball around.

BTW, did you guys notice that Wade said we definitely were going to move Felix around this year? I assume that means into the slot and other places around the field. Said we were going to do that last year but then he got hurt. If the offense does even okay, people won't even be thinking about TO... At least until his next circus act in North America.

Romo.

They better not start slow either, the sharks are circling and we haven't even taken a snap.
