lol you love Hodgy too much DC!! He looks like a hammer though!

Check this out.

Coach Bartel. A few folks here will know him from my show. And if you do then you love hearing him talk ball on DCF Radio.

I talked to him for about an hour last night. He's now a D Cor down in Texas, not giving out too much info, and he's installing a new 4-2-5 defense this year for his team.

So guess where he's been watching film for the last two months?

T to the C to the U!!!

And Hos will chime in here too. Coach loves ballers, kids that just got one thing on their mind and that's playing ball.

He loves Hodge. Say's he has seen the kid come from every angle imaginable on film and always at 150mph. Say's he's even a little bigger now since last season ended because he knew he was going into the NFL as a Backer.

Says we will love him like we loved Bates, Gant and Killah for years to come as a special teamer.

But then also says that he's the 'Roy Williams' we were supposed to get in that hybrid Nickel LB/Safety role that Roy played in 2007.

That was the Roy who was supposed to making things happen. Now he said there is a great chance we have found that player for Wade.

And I specifically remember Wade saying this...

Wade on Hodge

The key word for me in there is 'quickness'.

Roy never had quickness. That's why he could never get past the O lineman when he blitzed.

So yeah, I guess I am saying I love Stephen Hodge already, lol.

And by the way. Coach Bartel will be on DCF Radio on Monday Night at 10pm eastern with me and Hos.

Nice, ya I admit that I knew almost nothing about him when we drafted him but after reading watching some stuff I can see where all the love is coming from. You think Hamlin is coming out on third and long now? Replaced by Hodge? Because I'm tryin to think of situations where Williams and Hodge will be on the field together without losing Bradies pass rush up the middle.

Bradie James is not a 3 down LB.

In certain situations.

1.Ware - 2.Rat - 3.Bowen/Ellis - 4.Spencer/Ellis/rookies

5.Williams/Carp - 6.Hodge/Sensabaugh (Safety/LB Hybrid)

Then 5 DB's - 7.Newman, 8.Scandrick, 9.Jenkins, 10.K. Hamlin, 11. M. Hamlin/Watkins/Smith

Right on, man. He's like a 240-lb bowling ball running a 4.5 and looking to blow something up.

If he works hard, maybe one day he can even attain Dex Coakley trade bait status. ;)

Stephen McGee looks and talks like the lovechild of Bill Bates and Jason Witten...

seriously though...love the kid's attitude and skillset and think he will be a keeper.

The more I learn about this years crop the more I think we have the potential for an A++ draft...we'll see.

Williams better change that helmet, it might be the ugliest looking helmet I've ever seen!! I'm anal about how guys look and what equipment they wear, LoL.

It took me a minute to place which famous person he looked like, but doesn't J. Williams look kind of like Amare Stoudemire? Minus the height of course.

I believe thats the newest helmet that is the best against getting concussions. I think most players are starting to wear them.

Jason Williams seems well-spoken

not one, "you know?" among his answers, I remember the ESPN crew talking to Brian Cushing and Rey Mualoogy after the Pac10 Championship game, and they were unbearable, "yeah, we played our best you know? we won, you know? oh man, so tired you know? you know?"

McGee said, "most certainly" :muttley: he kind of reminds me of the actor Jay Mohr, I guess cuz of the hair
