Maybe he was being tight-lipped, but he came right out and said it didn't happen in defensive meetings and he just didn't know if it happened in offensive meetings. And it wasn't one of those suggestive statements about the offense.

Ware and Ratliff need to take over that defensive locker room! Ware is the good cop - Ratliff is the bad cop. Ware speaks and Ratliff is the enforcer.

I agree on the K.O. T.O. point. I think it would be addition by subtraction. Jerry really needs to consider what is causing the problems in the locker room and clean them out. Bradie James might be another one that needs to go IMO. I am not quite sure.

Gurode is a stupid player and I really think the cause of all the oline breakdowns - I really do. I don't know what you can do about him but I would look at possibilities if there are any.

It's a shame that elite players like DeMarcus Ware, the best player in the NFL, and Jason Witten are being overshadowed by iOwens' behavior and need to be the center of the universe.

Tony Romo threw the ball to Owens an average of 9.3 times per game in 2007. Owens had one of his best years, ever, in Jason Garrett's passing game. Owens put up a 9.4 YPA against Joyner's 'red' corners, and he put up a 9.7 YPA overall.

Tony Romo threw the ball to Owens an average of 8.9 times per game this year. Owens' YPA dropped from 9.7 YPA to 7.5 YPA * (14 games/2nd Commanders and Eagles game not included). Owens had his "opportunites". Owens' YPA has dropped three out of the last four seasons. His 65.8 YPG reflects his drop in production. Why did it happen? Here is one piece of evidence.

Vela's scope on Joyner's "red" YPA stat for Owens in 2008 (for 8 games) had Owens at 2.0 YPA* against some of the better cornerbacks. With 8 games left to be included in that stat, that should alarm the Cowboys, because in 2007, Owens put up a 9.4 YPA against Joyner's "red" CBs. He went from torching them, to getting completely shut down. In 2007, Patrick Crayton had a 2.8 YPA against Joyner's "red" CBs. That is why the Cowboys were looking for another WR.

Laughenberg is right when he says that Owens' play declined bigtime. People, including Owens, can blame Jason Garrett all they want, but Owens put up huge numbers in his passing game last season and fell of the table this year. When you have the huge decline in YPA against some of the top CBs, you have to look at the player. Owens is pushing 36.

Owens was able to beat that bracket coverage last year and got away from some of the better CBs. In 2008, he couldn't shake some of the better covermen and get free or open. He couldn't get off the line consistently, and that made him easier to defend. Teams didn't fear him. They saw what the Packers and Redskiins did to him in back to back weeks. They got in his face, jammed him and beat him with bracket coverage.

When you combine his declining play with his two-dimensional "drama", he isn't worth the trouble, anymore. He's a "tosser", not a "grab a bucket" guy.

Not finishing that route and not knowing where to line up is on Owens. I bet that is the route Witten challenged him on. Owens can sure dish it out, but he sure can't take it.

If Owens can't beat bracket coverage or beat some of the better cover guys, Romo can't be throwing 140-150 balls in his direction. That will get you beat. Do you think Owens is going to be content to take a backseat to Roy E. Williams and Jason Witten? I don't.
