Antonio Pierce-LB- Giants May. 8 - 4:49 pm et
The Giants reportedly have no plans to extend MLB Antonio Pierce's contract.

Pierce has two years remaining on a $26 million deal signed back in 2005. He's been unhappy with his contact since last offseason, but he has little leverage to force a new deal.

Zach Miller-TE- Raiders May. 8 - 4:22 pm et
Raiders TE Zach Miller recently disclosed that he underwent offseason sports hernia surgery.

Miller indicated that he is about a month away from getting back on the field, which means his participation in June OTAs is in danger. It's not known exactly when Miller had the surgery, so it's hard to say for sure if he will be at full health in time for training camp.

Braylon Edwards-WR- Browns May. 8 - 4:09 pm et
Brandon Jacobs says he does not want the Giants to trade for Braylon Edwards.

Said Jacobs: "I don't want him. There are great players in the league that I don't want. I just think the chemistry between the teammates that I have now is great. We don't need to add a new veteran to the whole group." Jacobs has expressed similar sentiments in the past, but this is the first time he's said flat-out that he doesn't want Edwards as a teammate.

Brett Favre-QB- Jets May. 8 - 3:58 pm et
According to ESPN's Jeremy Schaap, Brett Favre has sent X-rays of his shoulder to the Vikings for medical evaluation.

A source tells ESPN that Favre will return for another season to play for the Vikings if anything less than "major surgery" is required. If, on the other hand, Vikings doctors advise major surgery, Favre will stay retired. It's believed that Favre may require an arthroscopic procedure, which wouldn't keep him out beyond late July. Favre's agent, Bus Cook, says he's unaware of any X-rays being sent to the Vikings and the sides have not talked about a contract.

This is not surprising at all. I don't know why teams and their agents bother to deny these type of things. In this instance there is little motive to cover it up, so why do it?

So. If he wants to unretire...retire....unretire. I don't care. I wish he'd stay in the AFC though. And the networks would shut up about it. Just watch Star Trek or something.

I hate Brandon Jacobs with a passion. Severely overrated. Dude can't play in more than 12 games a season.

And this is the reason I say the Giants offense is not as good as Dallas'. They lose a 1000 yard rusher in Ward, a 1000 yard receiver in Plax and now they are relying on Jacobs and Hakeem Nicks to carry the load.

Jacobs sure is dumb for saying negative things about a potential future teammate. Lots of dummies on the Giants.

Alot of bashing goes on for this Severely overrated back.lol
I for one loved Ward but I am glad to see him go.Bradshaw is a homerun hitter and I can't wait for a full season as the true #2 guy.I think the sky is the limit with the guy if he doesnt get in the doghouse for fumbling again.
And I think our WR,s in the draft were great picks. We did'nt have a problem between the twenty's just in redzone production.
Should be another fun year in the NFC EAST...

Because it's not about him "wanting to play". It was "wanting to play" that made Emmitt Smith go to Arizona. It was "wanting to play" that had Jerry Rice to to Oakland and Montana to KC. "Wanting to play" was what Johnny Unitas going to San Diego was all about.

"Wanting to play" is NOT what Favrverevereorevere is "all about". If it were, he wouldn't have done this redundant tap-dance the last 5-6 years he played in Green Bay. If he just "wanted to play", he had a job there. All he had to do was shut the hell up and show up at camp. You didn't see any "he just wants to play, whats the big deal" when Aikman retired, did you? If he only "wanted to play", he probably could've hung around another half decade, and no one would've blinked an eye. Because HE HAD THE JOB ALREADY!!! There was no need for any drama as to "is he REALLY retired or not".

Favre is a diva/prima donna who just can't figure out that some folks just want him to go away. He cannot fathom that him in front of some microphone and camera somewhere doesn't make EVERYONE all warm an fuzzy and "folksy". He's bought into his own press and headlines, and is desperately in need of being "a man of the people". The "blue collar" hero. The "lunch pail/Iron man" of the NFL. He can't sleep at night unless this kind of attention is upon him.

THAT, my friend, is WHY Brett Favor keeps repeating this melodrama. Not because "he just wants to play"..............

I disagree They forced Farve from GB.They drafted Rogers and when they thought he could step in they let Brett play one more year and he just happen to have a playoff year.
I think the man can still play.He started off with a bang with the jets but because of injury went out like a lamb.
If the injury isnt serious and he can fix it by camp I say why not.
I would love to see him in the playoffs this time next year. Because if he is healthy thats where MINN will be.
Make no mistake about it MINN is a QB away from winning that division.
And for Brett to put it to them for running him out of town would just make a good football story.
And for the Giants or any other NFC EAST team to beat them in the championship game will be an instant classic.
And mark my words THE NEXT SUPERBOWL CHAMPION WILL COME FROM THE NFC EAST.......(THE TOUGHTEST DIVISION IN FOOTBALL)tm note::
the toughest division in football is copyrighted by the"NFC EAST" all other
weakass divisions in the nfl using this copyright will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Enforced by Justin Tuck,Demarcus Ware,Osi Umenyiora,Albert Haynesworth and Mathias Kiwianuka.

Nobody "FORCED" Fart out of Green Bay................

What they did was FINALLY call his BLUFF. And, typically, Favor couldn't fathom the fact they, once again, weren't literally BEGGING him to stay. That response just doesn't work well for Favor.

He wasn't "forced". HE ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT. The Packers saw their lastest, bestest chance to be rid of the guy, and took him up on it. "OH, HEAVEN FORBID" they "take him up on it.

Like Fart, Dan Marino, bless his soul, held Miami hostage well past his prime. They got streets and malls and government buildings named after Marino in Miami. NO WAY on Earth that Miami could "show him the door". So, they had to wait for Marino to decide to call it quits. And, when he did, Miami moved on quickly.

Favrevervoroverarereverereveerer got so used to playing the "maybe I'll retire, maybe I won't" gig, and the basking in the glow of the media speculation, that he couldn't actually BELIEVE that THIS TIME, the Packers called him out and actually ACCEPTED his retirement.

If the Packers were so enamored with Favre, and just couldn't live without him, and if he's so great, then why did Green Bay JUMP upon his "last" retirement so quickly? And why did they not want to even entertain the possibility of him "un-retiring". Why did they fight so hard to avoid him coming back, and why did they blacklist him at training camp after they were FORCED to allow him attend? The Commish made the Packers take him back, and they made him sit and watch practice, thereby forcing his hand to BEAT IT and GET LOST!!!!

Simply put, the Packers were exhausted with his little soap opera every year, and the whole franchise being "all about Brett". If he were worth the price of admission, they would've put up with it another year. But, he's not. He's not worth the baggage you gotta' carry to enjoy what he brings to the table. He hasn't been "all that" since around the turn of the Century.
