I know everyone is still trying to get back to everyday life after the loss to the Pats but as we all know it is only one game and it is time to focus on the next opponent on the schedule, which is the Vikings.
The Vikings are coming off a very good victory over the defending NFC Champs Da Bears. Of course we all have heard about the stud performance of Adrian "AD" Peterson and how he is the early Rookie of the Year candidate. The Vikings really improved their stats as far as the offense is concern but took a hit on the defensive side of the ball. The Vikings have always been known for their outstanding defensive tackles and their ability to stop the run but it has been their passing defense that has been suspect.
Currently the Vikings are ranked in the NFL:
Defensive Ranking:
32nd in passing allowing 288 ypg...qbs completing 65.7% of passes
2nd in rushing allowing only 66.2 ypg...have not allowed rushing td this season and longest run is 17 yards
Offensive Ranking:
30th in passing @ 183.6 ypg and 3 tds....completing only 51% of passes
1st in rushing @ 170.2 ypg and 5tds
Peterson career day against the Bears had a dramatic effect to an otherwise bad offense. QB Tavaris Jackson is playing injured and the passing offense is actually worst than the stats imply.
The defense gave up 381 yards to Griese. Griese? Are you kidding? I think the key to this game will be the Cowboys being able to score early and get an early lead. Making the Vikings play from behind will force limited touches by Peterson.
prediction
48-21
