Taking a look at some of the stats that opposing QBs have put up against the Vikings it is clear that the way to attack their defense is through the air. Now I am not suggesting we abandon the run game, but our offensive game plan should be concentrated around the passing game.

Quinn 21-35 for 205 1/1 WOW lol

Rodgers 26-37 for 384 2/1

Flacco 28-43 for 385 2/0 WOW

Rodgers 26/41 for 287 3/0

Stafford 29/51 for 224 1/0 pretty darn good

Hasselbeck 19/26 for 231 0/1

Warner 22/32 for 285 3/0

Moore 21/33 for 299 3/0 WOW

Cutler 20/35 for 273 4/1

Some of these QBs are average at best and had well above average games by their standards. The good and real good qbs torched the queens secondary. I had absolutely no idea that the Vikings defense was this susceptible to the passing game. Tony Romo is GOING to have a FIELD DAY on Sunday. If Romo puts up numbers anywhere close to some of these guys, the Vikings will have no chance.

Their run defense is usually pretty stout, so yeah, Romo will be chucking the ball quite a bit.

Great insight!

How many top tier running backs have they face this year? I don't know yet, but I'm going to look up some numbers.

No one has been able to hold Felix down if he gets his touches.

You know the more I think about this, these guys will be putting all th ier concentration on stopping the pass because they believe thats where we will shredd them. I think they may slip up and we get some big runs on the with FJ.

I definitely agree here..We can easily set up a strong running game vs them with our passing attack. It will be a matter of picking our spots and gashing them for big plays on the ground when they least expect it...It'll probably be that freeze draw that gets them

That is no excuse to act like they shut down the run. Just be consistent with it. Carolina had an easy time of it. The Bears were still able to get around 100 yards against them. They have carried over an inflated reputation for stopping the run that has followed them for several years now. That is still no reason to assume they cannot be run on. I only hope that the gameplan is to ignore the run since we may not have a fully ready Barber and throw 51 times. Balance. That is why we are feeling good after these last two wins.

Short passing game. Consistent running attack.

We've got three good ones plus a lot more weapons. You can stop the water at one spot and then another one springs up.

if felix and choice can get to the 2nd level then look out for the home run.

I was watching some "highlights" of their pass defense against the Cards and I was like "Hot diggedy dang! Them boys is slow as mo-lasses!"

Seriously, their d-backs looked slow and awful, guys running wide open all over the place. I'm not nearly as worried this week as I was last week. Sure, some of that is because I despise the Eagles (almost as much as the Giants), but in reality, the Vikes really don't stand much of a chance.

Cards-Saints should be a much better game. And hard to pick. I'm leaning towards the Saints, but they have the look of a team that REALLY didn't need another week to get even colder. Cards might jump them early, like a mugger on a pogo stick.

You can lead a Favre to water, but you can't make him drink...unless you just shove it right down his throat. Them fellers Ware, Spencer and Ratliff are good shovers too!

I think it is going to be important that Dallas continue using balance in their offense to keep the Vikes on their heals. Anytime you only do one thing it becomes easier to defend. I really not concerned with Romo putting up big stats the 244 he passed for last week looked as good as any 300 yard day he has put up. I want to see strong defensive play and a good balanced attack by the Cowboys.

Yeah, but the only reason that Tony didn't end up with huge stats is that the game was pretty much over at halftime. Tony was putting up huge stats up until that point (he had over 200 yards at the half from what I remember). So those 244 yards he ended up with are a little deceptive.

The Vikings run defense is no more stout then ours.

Regular season the Vikings allowed 87.1 ypg rushing. #2 in the NFL.

We allowed 90.5 ypg rushing. #4 in the NFL.

I agree but Dallas was using both run and pass when you do that it keeps the defense confused of what you are doing. I don't want to get into some passing war with Minn and give Allen the green light to come charging in. Make them think and read what is going on.
