Unless Vinatieri visitng VR Wednesday or Thursday, his trip to Green Bay on Friday tells me Jones won't spend the money necessary to sign one of the game's best kickers. He'd rather go for a cheaper alternative, like Mario (sp?) of the Dolphins. They asked him to take pay cut cause last 2 seasons his kicking percentage dropped from the 90s to the 70s; so it appears to them he's reach age limit he can perform effectively. Or Jones will go after Seattle's Brown, who inconsistent and would require a 7th round pick from us, but he's much cheaper then Vinatieri. So much for my hope we'd hear that Cowboys had signed Vinatieri. This FA season isn't getting better and better.

Well...this would be a stupid signing imo because the Packers aren't even a playoff contender anymore. What's the point in signing a Vinatieri especially at this point in Favre's career, if he doesn't retire. Their line is terrible, rb is a has-been coming off injury, wr coming off injury, defense was horrible....umm....GB what's the point? Of course, Vinatieri will go anywhere at this point in his career where he sees the most $.
