As good as our offense is it's not completely set. Still need to see what we have in these young WRs and TEs we have.

Does he just play special teams or do they have some pass routes for him in mind? He doesn't seem like a guy who will handle the blocking chores without getting run over.

Maybe he is just scrappy and will hold his own - guess we'll see.

He's an interesting player. Too many holes in his game to probably ever be much of a WR, but could make for a neat H-back / slot receiver hybrid this year and then factor into the bottom of the receiver rotation next year, where we'll probably be looking to replace T-Will and Butler.

No way is he playing Hback, imo he is playing WR and special teams if he is active.

I imagine they'll just use him to con defenses into sneaking an extra DB on the field for running plays in shorter yardage situations. It's a wrinkle that could be the difference between Escobar vs. a team's first-team LB or Mayle vs. a team's 3rd or 4th DB. Later in the year once injuries have set in is the perfect time to start testing other teams' depth.

Cowboys must have a plan going against this #1 defense Mayle is not to be confused with a TE wannabe. I like the move.

Yes, if they use him like a TE, he will likely be blocking the slot CB. That seems like a favorable matchup. IIRC his blocking as a WR was very good in the preseason.

Coming out of the draft, he was projected as a WR/H-back. I think he can make most impact blocking on a run play.

I like this move. Would be cool to have another Lucky Whitehead type threat--where you have to account for his unique presence

I think this has more to do with special teams ability than the third TE. Mayle was excelling at special teams in training camp if I recall correctly.
