Vince Young was a perfect warm up for Mcnabb

Even though Mcnabb is a more experienced Qb. I think the defense will play him the same way. All the pressure will come from the front. The defense will
remain discipline and stay in their lanes. No blitzing unless Philly gets behind
(I hope) and throws all the time.

The Boys will blitz more. McNabb does not run nearly as much as he used to (or should IMO). Parcells knew a rookie like Young would look to run if he doesn't see something he likes downfield or panics. The only way Young was going to hurt the Boys was with his feet, so in turn the D-Line had to take one for the team in terms of the type of rushing they did. McNabb will hang in the pocket and look to pass, so getting to him is pretty important. If Stallworth is out it's even easier for BP and Zimmer to go with man coverage to the Philly WR's and LJ (the guy who really scares me along with Westbrook).

McNabb isnt nearly as tough to bring down as Young and doesnt have the "runner instinct" that allows Young to be utterly unstoppable once he gets going.

He is a much, much, much better passer though

McNabb is healthy this year and is on pace to run more than he has in several seasons. He is dangerous in that he keeps drives alive with his feet when his (banged up) receivers are covered. He is also very effective with the roll out in the red zone. I think we do not blitz much particularly if Westbrook plays. If he is out we will be able to do more.

McNabb is actually quicker than Young.
Young is hardly going to be 'unstoppable' at running in the NFL.
He is big and tough but does not look quick enough to be much of a running threat.

McNabb will have 350 yards if you play him the same way as Young. Young has no freaking clue what he's doing yet.

I think you are right. Containment was the answer for Young. I think the same approach for McNabb will limit his effectiveness. Make him throw from the pocket, where he is less accurate.

I guess it wouldn't be a Vince Young thread without HH chiming in... the ***** envy is astounding.

interesting point I didn't think about until your post. yes it was a "semi" warmup, but McSkabb is a more accurate passer. However, it still is a good point with that in mind.

Young had wayyyy too much time to throw. If dm has that much time, we could be in for a long day. I'm hoping for a lot of mcnabb ground balls that he is famous for.

If you take away McNair ability to throw well and read defenses better they are both good runners.
I see your point? :banghead:

don't worry, one day, Reggie and McGee will be better QBs than VY...at least, aggy tells me that.

But wait...aggie tells us that VY had bad games against them so chalk up another moral victory for the ags...damn, when will Mack beat them out of those moral victories?

Maybe one day ags will find out that they are right where they belong...they could never win without Texas, OU, and LSU being down...AND they had to cheat during those years...2nd tier sounds about right...

I disagree. Vince is fast, he's just not ready yet.
Did his last 2 season's at Texas, not teach you anything?
McNabb is no Vince Young.
McNabb chokes, Vince is maybe the most clutch NCAA player ever.

That is a good point.......but, we must put more pressure on mcnabb or he will hit someone with a pass on a consistant basis
