Were any of those guys you listed coming off an ACL the year prior?

    Context matters.

Looking at sack totals doesn’t tell you that. So last year as a junior (effectively his sophomore season in reality) he was coming off a ligament tear. I know we’d like to think this is like Madden in that after sitting out the specified time for injury you come back 100% but it’s not like that in reality.

His numbers show he was coming on really strong the second half of the season with something like 4.5 sacks and 9.5 TFL against major competition.

Love the traits and potential, afraid of the lack of production.

Boom or bust IMO, and too much risk at 17.

well reports are he has a history of injuries - that I do not know for sure but it was listed on one of his weaknesses

But even so this still goes to my point that he is more of an unproven player that looks to have major upside - I do not think Dallas is in a position after the failed drafts of Taco & Trysten Hill to roll the dice on another guy they think could be good but is unproven. Let another team roll the dice. We need a safe pick. CJ Henderson if he is there. Fulton if CJ isnt there.

Chiasson is definitely boom or bust. Been saying that. You'll hear how he "has to add strength." See ya in 2021. At least theres no more Rod doghouse.

Love how within threads debating the flaws of players, Henderson is always considered a sure thing.

If you ask me, any defense is at a disadvantage when only 10 guys are willing to make a tackle on any one given play.

That guy is going to frustrate people.

Did these fools watch the NCAA playoffs. He was the best defender on the field in both games. Chaisson is all around good player who does much more then rush the passer. He wore 18 at LSU because he is a player. They don’t give that number to some scrub. He is 20 years old as well.

I’m guessing for most, the research didn’t expand looking past stat totals.

I would like to hear your thoughts on how the situation with Chaisson is like those involving Taco Charlton and Trysten Hill?

After looking into it more, I'm a bit surprised that Baun is rated lower than this guy.

Not trying to pile on, but I think he has a tough time getting on the field in 2020 in Dallas and they need to do better with that pick.

That's the best help they're gonna get other that what you already see on the roster, and that isnt good enough.

Honestly, at this point, one of the WR would have a much bigger impact than Chaisson. You'll also have your WR1 ready to go when Cooper needs to be cut after two years.

I don't follow this line of thought? Whos' exactly "on the roster" that would keep Chaisson off the field?

If Cooper does need to be "cut after two years", do you really need to use this year's 1st to fill the role? Two years ahead of time?

I get neither of those 2 are as highly thought of. My thoughts on why they are similar is Hill was a guy that didnt really prove it at the college level but the thought was he could be coached up and really the same for Taco. They were both guys thought of as upside players

Chaisson has not proved in any way that he is some elite pass rusher. He is looked at as having the athletic talent & build to become a top pass rusher. We can make excuses that he was coming off a major injury the year before but that still means he has not proven it on the field. Again its all about what he could become.

I want a more proven player not a wishful thinking about upside player in the first round. I mean if he was such a sure thing why would he be there at 17 in the draft? ??Being considered the 2nd best edge rusher in the draft and your available at 17? We need corner help and CJ Henderson or Fulton should be there at 17. Lets take the safe proven player.

They were also both Rod Marinelli mistakes. And thankfully, he's gone so we won't be having those same poor decisions from coaches overruling scouts anymore.

Of course, if he was totally proven, you would have no chance to get him at pick #17.

I'm surprised that you would consider either Henderson or Fulton as "safe, proven players". And if that's the case, why would they be available at #17 as well as Chaisson? Wouldn't other teams draft "safe, proven players" ahead of us?

Definitely agree that sack totals themselves dont tell the story.

Blowing up a play is a big deal, and often is enough.

    People dont see that.

As far as the WR, no, but this draft may be an opportunity to get a top 10 type WR at 17.

Chances are, they lean on giving Smith and Gregory the benefit of the doubt to stick there at DE.

Hey...anything anyone thinks or says is simply an opinion. No one knows a thing for sure, and I certainly dont claim to.

At any rate, theres no way Chiasson is a 3rd round player, because of the upside.

Today's game is all about the QB, and the only way to stop that is a pass rush, not with "shut down" corners, which no longer exist with today's rules.

Young, Chaisson, Matos, Epenasa, Baun, etc...

A couple will be good NFL players, some will bust. Theres is NO ONE that has that answer at this point.

There are dozens of factors that will affect it.

Whichever hits, genius pick. The busts? Their teams will suffer.

At present, neither have actually completed the reinstatement process, so neither is actually on the roster at present. That's the point I was making.

    Oh yeah, absolutely!

This is my thought for what I want are boys to do on draft night.
    1) Henderson
    2) Chaisson
    3) Diggs, Jeudy, Lamb - doesn’t matter pick which wr is still on the board
    4) Trade down because a qb or a tackle has fallen that wasn’t predicted to get past 17.

I like Kinlaw but I’m worried about the knee - if he isn’t flagged because of the injury he probably will be gone within the top 15 picks.

You are about to be disappointed bro because most likely your first 3 options will be gone and we may have no trade back partners...
