Vonage Commercials

In one, a red Lambourghini with an incredibly hot girl pleads with a toad looking guy to not dump her. He gets hit in the head with a Vonage box and ignores the babe. Clearly he's an idiot.


In another, a beautiful ditz on the beach sees sharks but thinks they are dolphins. She too gets hit in the head with a Vonage box before getting her floaty to go play with the dolphins.


Someone tell me what the message is here? That stupid people need Vonage and you gotta hit them in the melon to get the point across to them?


How is this good sales theory?

The idea of commericals is to try to do something that will make you remember it(their product).(Kinda like the Quiznos Rats. Dumb commercial but just about everyone knows of them and thinks Quiznos.) It gets you to talk about them to your friends or people you work with or in this case a message board. It'll make people curious and they'll eventually check out what exactly it is. I'm just rambling on with no sleep and had some drinks. If it doesn't make sense I'll try to do it again when I'm awake...lol

Those commercials aren't directed to people like you Hos. They're directed towards the weak minded masses. That's why they are so successful.

But I often wonder, when was the last time a commercial actually worked on you and made you purchase the product?

I can't think of one.

Commercials have made me aware of a product I might be interested in that may have ultimately led to a purchase. But apart from the product seeling itself by being a good purchase, I can't think of once where a commercial influenced my intention to buy due to it's advertising, jingle, etc..
