You guys think you might be generalizing a bit too much based off of a rivalry game that happened to be the third division victory in a row?

Can't we just use the team's performance through each of the 10 weeks this year as a baseline and act accordingly? Or must we gnash teeth and grind labia until the next blowout makes us feel secure about indulging in football fantasies for a few more weeks without coming up for air?

Absolutely not! Why in the world would you want to use rational thoughts instead of jumping to conclusions. We have to be perfect week in and week out or it's unacceptable around here.

Its all coming to an end....

In three straight division games.... our margin of victory has been on steady decline

Against Philly - won by a 21 point margin
Against Giants - won by 11 point margin
Against Commanders - won by 5 point margin

Calgon take me away

Favre isn't going to carve up this defense. They don't feature the TE in their offense, and their wide receivers are young and inexperienced. Once this offense gets up by two touchdowns, Favre will take more chances downfield.

Just say it to yourself five times, "The Cowboys are a better team".

Grinding Labia??? ( Idgit):laugh2: I think there is some concern (rightly so) with Roy Williams and his ineptitude in coverage. I don't want to make this a R.W. hate thread, because he does do some good things. But...by and large, he is completely lost in coverage. It seems to be somewhat of an elephant on the Thanksgiving table around the zone, tho; everyone knows it, but seems like they feel if it's not spoken of, it'll go away. I'll take any win they give us, but it would be nice to see roy not toasted every time he draws a man to cover.

Im the biggest fan of RW there is. But this has to stop. Im getting sick of seeing mediocre TE's having career games against us, while Roy is covering them. In the past if a receiver or TE caught a pass, Roy would make them pay, and they wouldn't think about going Roy's way again. His coverage skills have always sucked, but this past couple years he hasnt laid the wood, and its showed.

Man, watching freaking JC light us up was very disturbing. Commander receviers were freaking wide open on 3 and forever. I then started thinking......how are we going to stop Farve?

If we play D like we did tonight, Farve is going to carve us up like a freaking turkey. It is going to suck playing the NFC Championship game in Lambeau.

We lose in 2 weeks, we can kiss homefield and probably a trip to Arizona goodbye.

I think Dallas will be just fine. Commanders came in and changed something they were doing on offense and I think it took Dallas a bit by suprise. In the end the defense made a stand to close this game. In seasons past I don't think they would have

Commanders have a pretty good o-line. The Cowboys ...err Wade was trying so hard to prevent the deep ball that he allowed Campbell to dink and dunk the ball and thats how he got his yards. The funny thing is, Campbell cannot throw the deep ball with any accuracy. At the half, I thought to myself. Ok, stop trying to blitz and playing deep to stop the deep ball. What does Wade say at the half. We are going to put MORE pressure on him. I thought, well this is going to be a close game...

I think they ran all of 3 different plays and everytime they caught the ball in the same exact place. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing (same defensive style ie pressure protect deep) and expecting the results to change.

Wade was suffering from insanity last night until almost the end of the game when he had Newman playing man and he got the INT. Of course once there was less than a minute left, he went back to the same defense and rightfully so.

If Brunnell was in there on the last 2 drives... I think they get 7 atleast once

Well he wasn't and we don't know what may or may not have happened. Guessing of what may have happened is an argument I'm not willing to get into because there is no fact to support it one way or the other. I don't think Campbell is as bad as some around here want to claim, he is a young QB who is learning and yesterday his O-line did a great job of protecting him. I give the kid credit.

Their WR's might be young and inexperienced, but they have been clutch for the Packers.

Favre spreads the ball to around quite well. They run 4 and 5 receiver sets that have been very successful. They run the slant/seam pass play to perfection.

Dallas will do better if they bump and run with their receivers at the line. This will majorly throw off their timing.

We have to get to Favre, that is when he starts making mistakes, when under constant pressure. We have to make him run. The guy is an expert at reading defenses and exploiting defenses.

I agree and I also think this defense has many more problems with the small quick WR's than they do the bigger guys. Not that Driver and Ferguson are big but they are nothing like Moss and Randle El

Gee you think? I know as a fan for the entire 47 year history of the Cowboys that this was a big win for this team.

The Skins played great, had a very good game plan, the Cowboys didn't play their best but still found a way to win this game. While some of the Madden educated fans whine and moan because they lack knowledge of NFL history and the Commanders rivalry, I understand that winning close games while not playing you best is what good teams do.

Joe Gibbs had his team ready to play why that surprises anyone is beyond me, Gibbs has always had his team ready to play the Cowboys its one reason he is in the Hall of Fame. This is a very big win and I am enjoying it very, very much.

:hammer:

If that was our best game yesterday, I'd be worried. It wasn't, and we still won. That's a good thing, not a bad thing.

The problem with this year is the measuring stick - Thats the Patriots - win by 20-30 most weeks - It is hard to measure up to that!

The Green Bay game has me sweating, that is for sure. They use 4-5 WR sets on first down, second down, third...doesn't matter. They've got a TE that is coming on strong in Lee, and the running game is coming around.

Sure they have a pretty young WR corp, but they are catching everthing thrown their way. I guarantee we won't see TO streaking down the field uncovered.

I'm afraid..................very afraid.

I think we will play nickle or dime most of the game. The reason GB is getting a rushing attack is because everyone is trying to stop their passing game. I think we play the run well in the nickle, we did against the Patriots anyway.

It will probably be a shootout!

Nah. I liked the ambiguity. *Is* it web-fluid? Perhaps Peter Parker is a Roy-hater, was watching the game in his room, and just saw Roy get burned in coverage and give up a touchdown to an average TE? We just don't know.

Dallas just beat the same Commanders team that almost beat Green Bay in Green Bay. They were saved by a Defensive touchdown by Charles Woodson. Green Bay's offense only scored ten points on the Commanders. Perhaps that Commanders beatdown by the Patriots clouded some folks on the fact that Dallas scored four touchdowns a Defense that has been pretty stout aside from the Patriots game. If not for some bad snaps by Gurode, it could have been more points on the board.
