Ball is good news, now they aren't desperate for a veteran corner. It will make the roster cuts a little easier.

:banghead:

He was making such good progress, too.

I have a feeling we're really going to miss him on special teams, if nothing else. And this may set back his ability to play from scrimmage by the end of the year.

I'd rather have them out 4-6 weeks than out for the season.

Wade was asked about IR-ing Hamlin (I think Hamlin) and he kinda said he wasn't interesting in doing that sort of thing for guys that could come back and help the team during the season. Said Hamlin was doing good on special teams (who knew?) so I guess he's not in the mood to IR him.

Hodge will practice this week.

they are all injury prone...we should cut them all

At least move their lockers away from Stanback. It might be contagious.

I think Hamlin was thought to have had the best camp out of the rookies.

Wow I didn't even realize the thread title was referencing Alan Ball. I thought Jason Williams had a "Ball concussion" sounds painful.

Injuries to guys like Williams are going to force us to keep guys like Stewart. This is exactly the type of scenario that I worried about with us keeping two kickers.

Injury report: Jason Williams out four to six weeks

Third-round ILB Jason Williams suffered a high ankle sprain Saturday night and will be sidelined four to six weeks.

Sixth-round ILB Stephen Hodge, who has struggled to come back from off-season knee surgery, is expected to return to practice and play Friday in Minnesota.

"His knee has been swelling on him, but they think he'll be OK," Wade Phillips said. "That'll be a big test for him."

Safety/cornerback Alan Ball suffered a concussion while covering a kickoff against the 49ers. He is questionable for the preseason finale, but Phillips believes he'll be ready for the season opener.

Phillips also expects WR Roy Williams (bruised shoulder) to practice this week, although he'll be held out of the preseason finale for precautionary reasons. Phillips wasn't sure whether WR Sam Hurd (sore quadriceps) would practice this week.

The injury bug has killed the 09 draft, which is bad news for our special teams depth!!!!!!!!!

:bang2:

We knew after the draft not to expect much from this class this year so besides ST, I don't know how much time they would have gotten in the game. The two that have looked the best are Bueller and Butler, at least for now they haven't been injured.
