Wow!

Seriously?

'Denial ain't just a river in Egypt, huh?'

Do us a favor Wade, do not have the nerve to be surprised when your time comes.

It's the one thing you have earned.

What makes you think Jerry would make a change if that happened?
Yeah, it won't get significantly worse than giving up 35 points to Jacksonville at home.

I guess keeping Wade and stressing fundamentals comes under the category of those "adjustments you may not like" that Jerry was talking about.

And I'm not mad at anyone. Why would I be mad?

Just saying that message boards are an interesting reflection of people in general.
Except that just because someone doesn't start a thread about what they're having for dinner tonight doesn't mean that they're not eating at all.

I eat a lot in the PC coverage threads. I don't leave anything on my plate and you rarely notice me at dinner.

Doesn't mean I didn't take the last of the mashed potatoes, because I most certainly did. :p:

I think Wade is an all around good person, but he's a terrible head coach. Any head coach that was worth anything would constantly be preaching the importance of playing fundamentally sound football every minute of every single day. Why is it, that after a 1-6 start is he just now saying that this team is not fundamentally sound? You mean to tell me that it takes seeing seven games for a head coach that has over thirty years of coaching experience to come to the conclusion that "your" team is fundamentally deficient. C'mon man, that's crap. Being fundamentally deficient is just another excuse from Wade, come next week we'll here another spin job. Wade will be saying they tried real hard, played fundamentally sound ball but just didn't get it done. I'm sure he will have another excuse next week, tainted water contributed to the loss or a bad batch of cookies found there way into his office. I also think when Wade says "I don't want to get into that" ,that is code talk for I don't have an answer because I'm a moron. Wade is done here in Dallas, he knows it, Jerry knows it and the fans know it. What's the holdup? Send his butt packing already, enough is enough.

Wade Phillips: It's time to start over

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said his team will go back to working on fundamentals, basically reverting to training-camp like practices in October.

``After going through really all our offense, defense and special teams this year, looking at last year, we're not fundamentally sound enough,'' Phillips said. ``I think that's the biggest thing I noticed overall is the fundamendals - running, blocking, tackling, catching, covering, throwing. We're not as gooid as we were.

``I looked at it long and hard and spent a lot of time with it. When you're looking for answers I think that's what you have to go back to. We've got nine games left and we have to be better.''

The Vikings just cut Moss and released him after 4 weeks and lost a 3rd pick in the process.

Other teams are struggling just as bad as Dallas, and Im ok w/ that. Just as long as they aren't worse than we are. Im hoping for #1 or #2 in the upcoming draft.:lmao2:

I'd laugh my butt off if he went back to NE with that 3rd round pick in his back pocket...now that would be funny as hell.

I just don't see NE bringing him back. He was complacent when he was there and NE isn't showing it needs him.

My money is on someone other than NE picking him up sometime tomorrow.

Translation= Jerry is too cheap to fire me, so we are marking time till EOY.

Took Wade almost 2 months to figure out what everyone already knew.

That the team cannot block, cannot tackle and makes stupid mistakes.

At this point, it's actually making Jerry look like more of an idiot for accepting this guy as the coach of his team.

Wade will be fired and replaced...no doubt about that, but why are so many people wanting to do it now?

Has anyone here ever watched a team with an interim coach? It doesn't work...things don't get better...they get worse.

Suppose the next head coach wants Red to stay on as OC...making Red the interim Head coach means he has to go at the end of the season for Cowher or whomever gets hired. Are you really going to learn anything about Garrett that you don't already know? Like how will you run the offense without an OL and without your QB? How will you motivate the troops when they now don't have a defensive coordinator either?

Do you want Wade gone "today" so badly that you want to screw around with Red or some other sap, change defensive coordinators, and just muck around for the next two months? If you hate Wade Phillips so much, why not make him stay here and suffer through it the way we have to...this isn't baseball where you let the manager off the hook by kicking him out in the 7th inning because he can't stomach watching his own team either.

There is nothing to be gained by firing Wade now...you may even lose some guys in the interim situation.

You can tell the coach to play the younger guys and develop them; you can tell the players you expect them to play for their jobs and roster spots because you expect them to earn the money Jerry is handing them...or else, but the players aren't going to get better by firing the head coach or anyone else at this point...no one is going to step in and take their places other than the guys who are already here, and I don't see how you learn much about them either...if they have anything to give, they should be giving it right now.

I'm not a big Cowher fan...he took many many years to win one SB, and he took that same SB team to 8-8 the following year and retired. However, if you can talk him into coming in right now as interim coach to see first hand for the rest of the season what needs to be done for next year, then I'm all for it. However, it would be the first time in history that I know of that a quality coach was willing to take a job in mid-season.

The question is whose training-camp like practices, because Wade's don't seem to do a **** thing?

If you and your players have been in the league for this long, and you have to stress to your team the "working on fundamentals" either you're a terrible coach, or the players are just stupid or can't play.

"Working on fundamentals" is a stupid football cliche that means nothing.

That picture has made my week.:lmao: :lmao2:

And to those who are boohooing Wade is a nice guy, he has screwed millions
by pretending he's a HC. I don't feel sorry for him.

Fundamentally, you have to have pride.

Start with that and then worry about blocking and tackling

BTW where is the guy whose sisters cousin knew Rich Dalrymple and said Wade was outta here?:laugh1:

I agree completely, but it would still be funny as hell, especially after the tender moment between him and Brady after the game last night.

"Favre's done man...they got no one to throw me the ball...tell Bill I'm asking for my release and letting them know I won't ball for em...Let's win another SB, Tom."

I hate Bret Favre and the Vikings...the irony would just be one more delicious debacle on their part.

Struggling implies effort, I'd take that over yesterdays garbage, struggling is too high of praise for this bunch
