1) Rod Marinelli, Dallas Cowboys

The ex-Marine has always been viewed as one of the top defensive coaches in football, but his work with the Cowboys in 2014 represents one of the best coaching jobs in recent history. Marinelli transformed a group of castoffs and misfits into a stout unit by getting his guys to play harder than the opponent. As simple as it sounds, it is hard for most defensive coordinators to get every defender to run to the ball with reckless abandon. Yet, the crusty play caller convinced the 'Boys to swarm the ball like a pack of wolves. Most importantly, the unit tackled as well as any defense in football and attacked the ball with the kind of ferocity that routinely produces turnovers. Granted, the Cowboys' scheme is simple, but the flawless execution and impressive hustle is a testament to Marinelli's ability to get his team to buy into his message.

And I guess that Jerry Jones has finally proven that he is about, trying to get dependable as well as good coaching staffs for his team.

Any guess of a six win season and historically bad defenses now?

Watch the Seattle game. It wasn't a dominating performance, but this team played with aggression and busted Seattle in the mouth. McClain had his best game that say IMO. Add to that two more pass rushers in Gregory and Hardy, a healthy Lee and a talented rookie in Jones, and I'm pretty pumped to see this defense with deeper depth and more talent than last year.

I was glad that the Skins didn't get Fangio. Think he would have done damage there.

Haslett did a good job against us, regularly. IMO.

I don't know if Fangio is better?

I'm hoping for a strong presence from McClain this season.

I am surprised a member of the Cowboys even made a top 10 list, but #1, even more shocked....is the media bias cracking....
Linehan even made #5 on the OC list.

Both well deserved rankings though.
