Mike Williams, Titans. Age: 24.
Wow. Remember when everyone thought Mike Williams would be the second coming of Keyshawn Johnson? Now he can't even make the second string on the Titans. I'm awarding Williams no stars to emphasize how much he really sucks at life.

:laugh2:

Too bad Shaun Hill re-signed with the Niners....would have been a nice pick-up to backup Romo.

I wouldn't mind looking at Cleo Lemon. He did a nice job with almost zero to work with in Miami. Plus he has worked with Garrett before.

I do not agree with that post, who the hell is Tony Romo?

Signed Drew Henson circa 2004
Seconded - Derek Anderson and Jake Delehomme

  1. http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/packersb_logo.gif Ryan Grant (ERFA), Packers. Age: 25. http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gifhttp://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gifhttp://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gifhttp://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gif
Ryan Grant rushed for 956 yards and eight touchdowns last year, gaining 5.1 yards per carry. The thing is, he only saw extensive action in eight week. If you project his numbers over a 16-week campaign, you get about 1,750 yards and 14 touchdowns. That's not horrible, is it?
  2. http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/cowboysb_logo.gif Marion Barber (RFA), Cowboys. Age: 25. http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gifhttp://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gifhttp://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gifhttp://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/images/fball/star.gif
I'll never understand why the Cowboys messed around with Julius Jones so much instead of giving Marion Barber 80 percent of the workload. Barber is infinitely better than Jones. But I'm listing him below Ryan Grant because we have no evidence he can carry the load for an entire year.
kinda contradict dont they? Barber has proven WAY more then Grant

Sort of. I think the point they are trying to make is that Grant was given the starting role + starting role's carries once he won out the job...

And that Marion Barber was still a backup until the playoff game.

I'm not looking to FA to fill any possible starting positions that might be open. This year's crop of FAs does nothing to excite me, particularly at WR, CB, and RB which is our biggest areas of need.

The draft does have solid players at those positions and I would like to see us getting younger and developing some fresh talent rather than constantly looking to fill in the gaps with older, more expensive players.

That said, I would not at all mind trading our 2nd rounder for WR Roy Williams if the Lions would go for that (we could always throw in Carpenter  ).

I love how they chose senior citizens as the best middle linebackers.

Right on the money Thumper. I really hate ot see us overpay for marginal free agents just because they will a need. That cuts down on our flexability in the draft, but I like the talent in our areas of need also.

Was Culpepper in Miami with Jason Garrett? He probably can be had for the cheap since its unlikely he'll be a starter next year and he's 10 years younger than Brad Johnson. If he ever had to play it could be like Culpepper to Owens instead of Moss, but lets hope the backup never sees the field unless its mop up duty

There are 3 wr that i think would help us in FA neither is a WR that will cost a ton of money

Bertran Berry
DJ Hackett
Bryant Jonson

any of those 3 would be solid pickups for the offense after that not much there

Very interesting read. Thanks for the link to this. I do agree, with Kang, that there are probably a couple guys who would make nice 2 or 3 WRs.

Grant still has a lot to prove. This was his first year to see any playing time in the NFL. He had some good success, but you have to wonder why he was not even getting scrub time carries in prior seasons. He and Julius were on the same Notre Dame team and as bad as Julius has been according to this guy, Julius was playing and starting in the NFL for 3 years before Grant even got one carry.

Grant entered the league the same year as Barber, but while Barber was getting carries Grant was not.

Grant certainly has some potential, but he could turn around and be another Troy Hambrick.

Bertrand Berry is a DE, I believe you're thinking of Bernard Berrian.

I don't think the Bears are going to let Berrian walk, either. The only other guy they've got is Muhammed, who is getting old. Berrian is the only deep threat the Bears have. I don't think they'll franchise him, but I think they'll try to get him signed before FA even starts.

Berrian worries me because his hands are very inconsistent. I think we've got enough of those on the team as it is right now.

I agree, and I don't think the Cowboys will go after any of the higher tiered FAs this year. Maybe a middle of the road kind of guy for depth, but I just don't see the MAJOR signing that many on the board are pining for. If Jerry DOES make a splash it will probably be via trade (Roy Williams-WR)

Deion hinted at Jerry making a huge move in the off-season, but I can't imagine it would be to break the bank in a weak FA market. As much as many here would love to have Samuel, I think the guy is totally overrated. If the Cowboys could get Giants type pressure on the QB then Samuel would be a decent pick-up. Samuel has benefited from an aggressive front 7 more than any CB out there. I know that the same can be said of any CB, but I'm just not as high on Samuel as others. He'll probably get a Clements type of contract and won't be anywhere near as good (I honestly don't think even Clements was worth anywhere near the money he got paid).
