Ferguson and Gayle aren't exactly my 1st choices, but overall can't say that I would be too upset if we got that haul.

You are spot on. This guy is nothing but trouble. He was a complete idiot for 4 years in Ann Arbor and now that he's gone the stories are rolling in. Comparisons to Richie Incognito have been made....and rightfully so.

So what if it's just a misdemeanor? He beat up a guy outside a restaurant because he was an OSU fan and mouthed off to him. And it's not the first time he's gotten into fights and other issues off campus. UM was able to make most of those go away but when an OSU new outlet picked up the story the Ann Arbor police were put in a position where they had to act and reopen the case.

I am not looking for choir boys here. But there's a line where aggressive and tough on the field and even a little bit off the field crosses over into red flag territory. Multiple run ins with the disciplinarian branch of UM, threatening a raped girl with harm if she speaks up, etc. We aren't talking about a guy who gets into a random bar fight and that's that. He has a long laundry list of problems.

If the Cowboys take him, I'll be disappointed.

It's a fine balance. Most on here long for the day's of Jimmy Johnson and those players even though quite a few were POS off the field (Irvin, Big E, Nate to name a few).

There is a fine line...

...and one thing to consider, a guy who will be 23 when the season rolls around is likely to be a lot different than some 21 year old who is a big deal in college. People can grow up.

Talent-wise, Lewan would be a total steal at 16. But I don't see it happening.

And in the 2nd round he doesn't differentiate FS and SS, saying Dallas needs a safety. Well, our need is at FS and he has us taking a SS. But again, it would be good value...just don't see us taking him there though.

And there are a lot of failed examples of this where you think a guy will mature and then doesn't. There are very few players I wouldn't want to use a first round pick on........ but Lewan is one of them.

Don't have a lot of respect for a kid who threatens to rape a girl who was sexually assaulted by a friend if she talks to campus security or cops.

When I first saw we get Lewan at 16, that would be a nice steal.

But I didn't know about his transgressions. Heard he had a quirky personality but sounds like a real meathead.

Your last few sentences describe Erik Williams to a tee and most folks on this site loved Big E. At the end of the day every team has players with questionable backgrounds and HC/GM have to weigh the pro's and con's of adding that player to the team.
