They really are chirping in Philly. Cox, Carroll, Barwin, Cole............ but who can blame them? They kicked us in the teeth and we - coaches and players - folded like a cheap suit.

So if you have a problem with the Eagles mouthing off........... kick them right back in the teeth.

The Cowboys don't have it in them to answer, unfortunately.

Fletcher Cox can say what he wants. He's becoming a great player. Until we beat him down, it ain't bragging.

Fortunately, we don't even have to run the ball well to beat this team if we can get the ball out quickly and over the middle, they can't stop it. And I think it's very much an open question whether or not we can run the ball well. We've run it against better defenses than PHI's in other games this year. There's no good reason to back off of these knuckle-draggers.

It might be that they actually want Dallas to play small-ball and run repeatedly on first down. My guess is that Linehan should be ready to deviate in decisive and duplicitous fashion at every opportunity that presents itself. The pass may end up setting up the run as an ancillary benefit. The greatest strength of the Eagles defense lay in its front seven, who are much more confident defending the run than covering the shallow zones immediately to their rear. Romo may have to get dirty on this one, and his attempts might end up being closer to 40 than the usual 30.

I'd pass to set up the run. We've ran the ball on 1st down at the beginning of the game so many times I think we should come out with a pass the first play of the game. Maybe even a flea flicker, why not? They're expecting the run so one little thing like that can throw them off.

This might be a game to suddenly switch things up. Open up passing and try to take an early lead. The eagles struggle defending the pass.

They really do. It's stupid to not take advantage of that. We can have success doing both, I think. We ran ok last time. The issue was we didn't convert on third downs when the conversions were there to be had. If Tony plays like he did last time, we're toast. But he's pretty unlikely to play that badly again. There was more than just a little bit of pressure going on there. He was off.

Obviously, Fletcher Cox is feeling his oats after dominating Leary the way he did in game one. Leary needs to show he can handle everything Cox has to throw at him in this upcoming game. Do that and he'll earn every bit of respect he'll undeniably have coming.

If anyone (on Dallas) is bothered by these comments, then the comments are working...come in, play your game, and execute and then the comments go away

funny how before the last few games, you don't hear a peep out of cox until he starts showing up on the field...whatever

Sunday nite we find out about this young O-line. They got all the incentive they could ever need. If you fall flat on your faces after this. You might wanna turn in your manhood card.

I mean we also gotta look at getting 2 Te in the game. Escobar can handle, n if hes not in Beasley better be.

They're confident in their ability in stopping our run as Seattle is in stopping Philly entirely. Success does that.

With that being said I know our Oline will have their best performance of the season on SNF.

Looking forward to seeing just that.

Didn't we have like 3.5 yards a carry the first game?

The Eagles shut down our running game.

Cox is a beast. I'd trade two Tyrone Crawfords for him.

That being said, he's getting smacked in the mouth on Sunday.

We had 94 yards and a touch. 2 TFLs. So, it wasn't great. But the bigger story in that game for our offense was the 33% conversion rate on third down (and add in the 0/1 on 4th). That was largely due to Romo's performance. The eagles ran almost 20 more offensive plays than we did.

Had we converted more, we'd have had the rushing attempts and, probably, the yardage.

Murray had 73 yards on 20 carries. 3.6 yards a carry. That was the story of the game.

But it's amusing to see you refuse to acknowledge their complete superiority up front in that game with the rest of society.

Sigh. Are we ever going to get to a point where you can just argue with me about the point that I'm actually making? Instead of you leaping to just the complete wrong conclusion to try to debate a cartoon character that doesn't exist?

I never said, nor would I, that they didn't beat us up front in the first game. And the fact that I'm saying we didn't convert well in the passing game does not mean that part of the reason for that was not that we did not get beat up front in pass protection. I already pointed out we were 4-13 on 3rd and 4th downs, combined. Romo was sacked 4 times. That ought to tell you something about how our OL held up in pass protection.

When I said I thought we ought to be able to both run and pass against them this game, it's because I believe that what we got from our OL last time was not indicative of what they normally do. We've run and passed well against better defenses than PHIs in other games this season. And I do think we ran ok in the first game, given the fronts we were running against. Had we also been able to convert better in the passing game, we'd have continued to move the ball and possibly have softened them up later in the game like we've done on other occasions this year. We'll never know, because we didn't convert.

Yeah, the problem with that is we didn't run okay in the first game. Just like our defense isn't mediocre to bad. You just have a real inability to tell the truth when the truth makes your face paint run. 3.6 yards per carry from your bell bow back isn't running it okay. It's pedestrian. The Eagles will take that every time.

We have to run the ball better this time or we lose. We have to win that matchup against a very salty front right now. They are playing outstanding. I think we can and will do it.

Yawn. Quit making every debate thread personal. It's not about you and me. Let's just stick to the topic. There's a post in the other thread that proves just how accurate everything I've said about you and your takes actually is.

I do think we ran the ball ok in the first matchup, considering what they were doing on defense. The issue was more converting on third downs. I obviously don't think we'd have ended up with 3.6 ypc for our bell bow if we'd been converting through the air and extending drives. Their DL was the primary reason why were were unable to do that, though.

Dallas being so far behind in that game they had to try to pass which limited Murray's touches. There is no doubt in my mind he would have been well over 100 if the game was close.

The Eagles' weakness, from what I understand, is their man coverage. We'll have to beat them one-on-one with Dez and T Williams. We will need to get Dez involved early and often.

I agree.. Need to move Dez around too..quick slants ... Quick outs but watch the underneath coverage
On the flip side Sanchez struggles with the pass over the middle ... Jam up Phillys receivers and force Sanchez to complete passes into tight windows and over the middle .. Have to take away the edge and dink and dunk outs

Most importantly TACKLE!!!!
