Jacque Reeves appears to be playing very well. He just knocked a 30 yard strike to Troy Williamson away for an INC and then on the very next play they just tried a button hook to Williamson and and he batted it away again. 4th down.. punt..

Yeah, that was a good series. Not sure which broadcast you're watching, but Mike Mayock kept saying that Williamson had a step on Reeves while running the route and that simply isn't true. Reeves was on him like glue the entire time. He showed some very nice quickness on that play.

I heard the same thing just as they showed the replay and was looking for the "step".. haha. Reeves was stride for stride with him and looked back at the perfect time to bat it away.

There's a nice play at 7:36 in the 2nd quarter showing Reeves' coverage ability. It's an out route that shows his ability to change direction. He had his hips turned ready to go deep with the receiver and then as the receiver cuts his route outside, Reeves makes a nice adjustment and is in position to make a play on the ball. It was overthrown, but if it was on target, Reeves would have been in position to either swat at it or go for the INT.

I think Reeves matches up better on the larger/slower WR's of the Giants than does Glenn. They certainly won't run away from him and he's at least a couple inches taller than Glenn.

I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks. I wasn't really centering on Reeves or Jones when I initially watched this game because no one would have expected Glenn to get cut. Now it's interesting watching Reeves and he looks pretty decent thus far.

This is actually my first time watching this game. Just from this game I can see why they'd have some confidence in him. And I don't get the big write up Glenn received after this game. He basically just had the one play in the first quarter.

Glenn was a horrid matchup against the Giants big WRs and Shockey playing outside, that is certainly true.

I wonder if that played into the thought process?

On another note, this game is making me really pissed off that we let Matt Moore go.

I can tell you guys that Jacque is a good-sized corner w/ speed, and as Wade just said today, doesn't give up many plays, doesn't make many either, but that's better than giving up plays and not making plays

Nate Jones on the other hand is limited athletically, according to Parcells, but according to Parcells and the scouts and coaches this year, gets it done w/ preparation and smarts and doesn't make mistakes

I just saw it. He covers ground pretty well. I see nothing to panic over thus far.
