This May be the strangest thing of all about our season.

Hatcher has six sacks. Selvie has four and a half. Ware has four. I love how others have stepped up.

Ware is not expendable.
OC's still gameplan around him, helping other players on D get free.

Hard to put a price on that.

The more I think about it, the more I think Ware's days in Dallas might be numbered. There's no way he's going to get the $16m or whatever he's owed next year. Unless he restructures, I don't see him being in Dallas.

Selvie has been a very pleasant surprise and much needed with no Spencer and Ware with a few injuries.

As far as Ware being expendable. That's hilarious. Guy missed his first game ever today and the trolls are on him. Ugh.

I suspect you may be on to something.

I see the Hatcher'esque DT as the lynch pin in this scheme.............could one imagine how Randy White would've put up numbers in this system: wowo

I would drop DeMarcus Ware at the end of the season. Call him a June 1st release. It's time to move on. The guy just can't stay healthy and can't stay on the field. Even when he is on the field he isn't productive.

Even if they made him a June 1st designated release- wouldn't the cap hit be near-debilitating?

I'm not sure on the numbers, but I think he's here for a bit longer.

I'd seriously listen to team offers for Ware in the off season, history of neck stingers and seems always nicked up now the last few years, aging and is heading to the downside of his career...

No it wouldn't. His cap hit next year is 16 million, the dead money is 8 million. By making him a june 1st cut we pay

3,253,750 in 2014
5,817,750 in 2015

We save nearly 5 million in 2014 by cutting him, and then we save 11 million in 2015.

It's a strong move, and it's a necessary one.
