...on NFL Network last night, Sapp, (who normally is pretty critical of the Cowboys), said he watches the line of scrimmage play when he watches a game and he said as he watched the Cowboys/Eagles game Sunday he noticed that the Eagles were getting moved around quite a bit on both sides of the ball and he thought they were playing scared out there and didn't want any part of what the Cowboys were dishing out.

(That's not a direct quote but you get the point.)

Thought that was an interesting observation from someone who knows what's going on in the trenches.

I don't think the Eagles were scared, I just think the Cowboys were extremely physical and dominated the Eagles at the Line of Scrimmage.

If you look at that game, a lot of times Cowboys lineman were getting to the 2nd and 3rd level.

Like Troy Aikman was saying, the Cowboys do have very big Lineman but people don't realize that they are fairly athletic as well.

I saw that as well. He also mentioned that losing your center is a big deal and that it's harder than most people think to replace that. Here's hoping he's right. Nothing would make me happier then getting that playoff monkey off by beating Philly twice in a row.

it was always a confidence issue. Dallas was always one of bigger offensive lineman. I rewatched the game....and eagles clearly lost in the trenches. There isnt a more physical team over past 4 weeks than Dallas.

He also said he didn't see the Eagles beating us, and Marshall Faulk almost gave us some credit but could not bring himself to say that we would beat the Eagles.

Sapp used the word "scared". I'm just telling everyone what he said and the guy was one of the greatest/toughest players in trench warfare in the history of the NFL. Perhaps he used that word to challenge their manhood and get them to play a better game this week because he is certainly not a Cowboy cheerleader.

The fact is the Eagles defensive line is undersized and they were dominated last Sunday.

I always watch the line because it usually ends up telling what is going to happen on a play.

We are just a more physical team than a lot of other teams.

We would be the SEC of the NFL. So would Minny.

Someone like New Orleans would be like a Pac 10/Big 12 school.

I saw that as well. While I do not think teams and players get scared I do think Dallas physically dominated the Eagles and that is something that will be hard to overcome for Philly. In the past Philly has physically dominated the Cowboys and as we should know 1st hand that is hard to overcome. A team can make some adjustments and put in some different plays but when you are getting physically man handled there is not much you can do about that.

Thats the key right there and its the best style to be for playoff football.

The New Orleans type offense looks good in the regular season but its not really built for you to have post season success.

The Phoenix Suns may look great during the regular season but the Spurs half court offense is what gets it done in the post season.

Its this way in nearly every sport. Physical > Finesse.

I saw that last night as well.

Since we like to bag on Faulk here...

Faulk and Sapp were asked if the Eagles could close the gap in the short week. Of course Faulk said emphatically yes and looked towards Sapp thinking he would agree with him. Sapp was like no way. He was impressed with the way Dallas owned the LOS and were pushing people off the ball.

Now if we can just get them to stop calling weird holding penalties on Gurode.

It was not just the OL. It was the DL. The Eagles OL was not very good and Ratliff was having himself a ball. There was a play where Olshansky literally planted someone. Jean-Gilles got pushed around a good bit and Cole was a step down from Jackson.

That was just as important, if not moreso, than our OL play, which I believe was as strong of an outing as they have had in any game all season.

This is, in fact, a general misconception about the Saints. Throughout the first half of the season the Saints offensive and defensive lines were extremely physical. That was the difference between this year's Saints and New Orleans teams of the recent past. That is why the Saints were ranked in the top five in both rushing and rushing defense through the first half of the season. About two thirds of the way through the season the Saints suffered a number of injuries to full backs, TE's and offensive line, as well as a number of defensive line, LB and defensive back injuries. This dramatically affected their ability to play the physical style they demonstrated for most of the season.

Finally, come their first playoff game, it will mark the first time all of the key starters on both sides of the ball will be back at the same time and at full, or near full, strength since the midpoint of the season.

I think the Cowboys are playing with a huge chip on their shoulders and therefore taking it out on opponents!

So basically ur saying the saints are injury prone/soft...... I agree!!! They are very soft and have no earthly idea what NFC East football is all about.

It'll be good for you guys to be completely healthy when you're sent home packing after your first game.

If the Packers beat the Cardinals, they will walk over New Orleans. Not a doubt in my mind.

Their O line were definitely on their heels all day long. I don't know how they think Peters has done up there, but he looks really skittish to me. Those times where we kept getting offsides called on us (a couple of which should've been false starts, what was up with that), he was jumping back when someone in the middle of our line moved... Not even anyone he was blocking.

If I were Reid, I'd try to simplify the blocking schemes and run the ball more with those huge backups. But of course it's hard to run the ball on us. I'll never understand why Reid goes for these huge lard butts like Cole and Jean-Gilles for an offense that loves the short passing game so much. Doesn't make sense to me.

The Chargers might argue that. But I agree. Jason Garrett or somebody has finally given the Cowboys some courage. Somebody whispered in their ears that we are bigger, faster, stronger and have more mystique than our opponents. It's time to live up to that. And with our quarterback and defense playing lights out, that bodes well for us.

But first, beat - no DESTROY - Philly.

Warren has criticized the Cowboys for being soft. So this is a HUGE compliment coming from him.
