Once upon a time ago, like >50% of Zoners WANTED Turner here last year? How many late game losses has Norv had in his entire career?

http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2008/11/30/warren-sapp-norv-turner-didnt-practice-two-minute-offense-in-t/

"I tell you what, [owner] Dean Spanos and [general manager] A.J. Smith need to do their homework because the two years I played with Norv Turner, we did not practice the two-minute offense or defense one time. So when you look at the game last week ... and Norv using his timeouts in a bad situation, that's why.

He does not practice time management in a game; I've been with him two years -- he don't do it.

Dude, do you ever really post based on sollid facts or talk out of the neither regions? I barely can remember 5% of this board posting for Norv Turner. Seems like you relish on posting stuff you can't back up with facts and negative stuff.

And do you believe that. I don't believe a coach with his credentials has never practiced a two minute drill. Maybe he didn't in Oakland because he was too busy trying to get them to play basic football. Maybe not. Sounds too unbelieveable to me.

Yea, that Warren Sapp is a guy I would listen to. I get so tired of the talking heads, especially the ones that obviously have a horse in the race. (i.e., they are not exactly neutral)

I heard Deion, and Marshall Faulk and Sapp talk about how L.T. hasn't lost it, as they watched the Chargers vs. the Raiders. Man, if you can't see that L.T. is not what he used to be then just get off the set of NFL Network. Faulk keeps talking about L.T.'s "touches", he just needs more "touches". So, they give him 25 carries. 25!! Ok, what did he average per carry? 3.6, 3.6 whopping yards.

Tell me, unless you are playing Oakland, how do you keep giving a guy the ball when he is averaging that?

Is their offensive line a mess? Yes. But L.T. doesn't have the same burst and he goes down with the first tackler.

Anyway, a long winded way to say that I don't think Warren Sapp is an expert on coaches.

I agree. I doubt that one bit. The fact that a coach who has been in the NFL for that long doesn't practice the 2 min drill is asinine.

well since the 2 minute drill is designed to score points quickly at the end
of a game you have a chance to WIN...maybe ole Norv figured why waste
the time practicing something you will never use !! hehe sorry i like Norv
but couldnt resist digging at the raiders.

why would you practice such things on the raiders? sounds like he is just smart, putting his efforts into things they will use.

Amusing that this thread went to Sapp's comments, and not to the fact that this board basically staged a candlelight vigil to keep Turner away from Valley Ranch.

Well, I didn't want Norv here. He's a disaster at HC IMO. But it's ridiculous to believe he's that incompetent.

Oh, I agree completely on that one, too. I saw the segment with Sapp and called BS right when he said it.

Sapp is a IDIOT!!!!!!!

I second that emotion.

To believe an NFL coach, in a WEEK, let alone 2 YEARS did not cover 2 minute drill, is completely and utterly asinine.

Sounds like he perpetual debate in Dallas from about 1996 to 2002 about whether or not Emmitt had lost it. LT will continue to produce for a while in this league, just not at the rate of his younger years. Is 3.6 yards a carry really that bad?

I would welcome him back here as a QB coach or OC coach if/when Garrett becomes HC. He has had great success with young QBs and would like him to come here and start developing some late rounders for us.

Yes, 3.6 yards a carry is that bad when you figure in about 2 or 3 longest runs on a day, the the rest of those carries, net around 3 or less.

It bogs an offense down. Even as good as Emmitt was, when he started becoming average it made the offense bog down when we tried to get the ball to him the same way we did in his prime.

Wouldn't the two-minute offense imply you were close enough to score and tie or win the game?

Seems like Norv knew somethinhg, Warren ole bean.
