Was Davis expected to get more than Eric Steinbach coming into FA?

Also, is he better, or just more versatile? Or neither? I've never watched enough of either to know. But I do recall that Davis was always considered an underachiever.

Just wondering because I read everywhere that Steinbach was the premier guard in FA, so I am assuming it is for his versatility.

Davis has and can play guard and/or tackle. Steinbach has played well at guard and is projected but has not actually played tackle.

Steinbach has played center as well and played tackle in college. He is considered to have played better at Guard then Davis has. He is also known to have a real motor- unlike davis.

burm you can put me down for not caring what Cards fans think especially if they think they are better off without Davis. i am just salivating at the idea at what they are going to replace him with at LT.
