There was a built in protection for the Cowboys regarding Jones. If he was suspended we get back Tennessee's 5th round pick. So that pick wasn't wasted. We just rented a player for a year at the cost of a lower Draft pick.

Worth it? Debatable.

Did it damage the team? I know you and other Cowboys haters hope it did.

The Eagles luck into the playoffs and we got Grand Master Post posting up in a Cowboys forum.... stirring the pot.

All is well. Even in a season where we blew chunks we are STILL other teams fans focus.

It really helps me get through the disappointment that WE/Fans/Dallas Cowboys are the validation for other teams existence.

But to answer the question, NO, it was not worth it to this team. Not Terrell Owens, not Adam Jones, not Tank Johnson. None of them improved this team or got it over the "hump".

Owens' apologists will disagree of course...

Tank and Jones really didn't cost us anything, in terms of picks or real compensation, so it was worth it to see if they could be impact players. If they were, then great, you got a steal, if they weren't then you let them go, or cut them, and it's no real loss.

The TO deal was absolutely worth it because I really don't see where this team would have replaced 38 TDs over the last 3 seasons with someone else.
