Was that a Setup for LA?

First off, I know, I know, its only pre-season, who gives a crud? Im certainly not gonna lose any sleep over it, and Im NOT usually one of those "The NFL is rigged" type conspiracy theorists, but this just had setup written all over it....not only did the Rams win their first game (pre-season or not) back in LA, they did it in dramatic fashion, of course!.....All I know is, even if it wasnt setup, I certainly saw this comin a mile away...I said to myself when it was 24-21 with about 7 minutes left, that we would go 3 and out and Rams would go down and score under the 2 minute warning...sure enough!! Im sure it really was just how it happened, but it sure was convenient how everything played out like it did......oh well, we get the last laugh for now anyway, our 4th Round QB was almost perfect and their 1st overall pick, who they mortgaged the future for, was pure garbage.....

I thought the same thing. Why not give the record crowd something to cheer about. Dallas saw all they needed to see to
build the rest of their preseason

I actually was kinda rooting for them towards the end...there were some pretty ladies in that crowd.lol. Guess it's true about LA.

Ha no.

They wanted to win and they did. Their backups were better than ours
Well I think fisher wanted to win first game, and from rams point of view they needed that win to get things started right.
The thing I noticed was goff didnt look good so they yanked him and mannion who was very good, played the rest of the
game.
I think they were playing thier best bkups, in a effort to win. like the wr spruce, who looked like he should be a starter.

Goff was supposed to play more, but I think it was smart to yank him and just play mannion, and try and win the game.

Goff looks like a project qb, and no way worth what they gave for him. I wonder if fisher really wanted him,
or was it the owner or gm?? either way he looks like a potential bust.

I don't think there was some conspiracy to help them win, but I just want to point out what BS that fumble call was when Showers threw a short dump pass that hit the receiver in the leg, then bounced along the ground and was ruled a fumble. That might be the worst call I have ever seen but thankfully it was overturned.

Also that punt by LA when they said it was downed at the one when the Rams player obviously was standing on the line.

Like the say, it was pre-season for the refs too.

I thought Goff looked okay. He made a hell of a throw that was just flat out dropped.

He didn't have a lot of help and the sample size was too small.

I wouldn't call him a project at this point.

I'll be consistent and complain about the calls. Even the ones they corrected. How they could not see the forward pass on that one and call us for a fumble is beyond me. The ref 10'feet from the guy trying to save the ball from going into the end zone is laughably incompetent. Two holds on Green were very bad.

Did we lose? I stopped watching right after half time when it was our Home Depot guys vs their Lowe's guys. I guess Lowe's is better.

Generally when one team is playing to win preseason games and the other is not, that's how it will work out. Jimmy Johnson played to win in the 89 preseason, he said he'd never coached a game where he wasn't trying to win and didn't know how. We won 3 of 4. Then the regular season started and the other guy's wanted to win too...

I fell asleep in the second half. That's how much I was into it. After halftime I just didn't care. Most of those players won't make the team.

Even Jerry said he kinda wished it was their team scoring on the opening kickoff

It took a little of luster away when we lost, but the powers at be wanted an LA win for sure

A few calls and non-calls and a complete lack of concern from our side all contributed

Premium beers at Dodger Stadium and Anaheim stadium are $12, that price isn't unusual for LA.

A setup? it wasn't a set up, this was the same Marinelli defense that loses games at the end. I said in the game thread last night, it doesn't matter the game, preseason, regular season or playoffs, this is the Marinelli defense, gives up a lead no matter how big, and will lose at the end. We've all seen it many times, if the offense does not continue to score, we will lose the game. No lead is safe with Marinelli. I wish they would have blitzed and tried something different, even in the preseason game, just to stop the trend. The whole team saw it coming and expected the outcome. They've grown used to it.

I didnt even know the rams won until a couple hours ago. The game ended in the second quarter for me when the 3rd team oline was playing. That was a bad day for the rams and a good one for dallas. No one in football actually thinks otherwise.

That game was basically a novelty act. That city has very little interest in NFL football and will soon be seen.

lol they did blitz a little , and one or 2 worked, but you could be right.

No lead is safe with Marinelli.......lol put that on some t-shirts they might sell out later in the season??

Jeff Fisher said:
I had to remind them it was a preseason game. It was as if we had just clinched the playoff as far as they were concerned.

That tells you all that you need to know about why the Rams came back and won.

Can't expect much more when he's been given cast-offs from other teams and mostly later rounders
