dc.com and espn game reports are making as if this whole game came down to terrell owens saving the day. sounds like the usual TO-obsessed madness to me.
now, i'm glad he caught those touchdowns, and i'm glad we can celebrate over him instead of dealing with a million stories about him pouting or whatever. i just don't see how this game was all about TO.
granted, i didn't get to see the game on tv. but i listened to the radio broadcast over the internet and followed the stats and play-by-play on nfl.com -- and from what i can tell, this win was all about a very stingy defense that made some big plays and a rushing attack that consistently ate up yards.
yes, TO caught three touchdown passes. and i don't begrudge him any one of them. but one followed a play where witten was wide open in the end zone but wasn't thrown to, and the last one came with the game in hand and in a situation where dallas could just as easily have pounded the ball over the goal line with marion barber. it isn't as if terrell owens was the only option the cowboys had going for them today.
my point in a nutshell: TO had a very good fantasy football day, but the dallas defense and rushing game were the real stars today. they should be the ones getting the credit for the victory.
